Two Lonely Souls Meet at a Bar

Summary:

Delia meets Barbara at a bar.

Work Text:

The moment Delia Schlimmer stepped into the bar, her eyes found what seems to be another lonely soul, and she couldn't help but approach the other woman. Delia didn't wish to startle the woman, and so, she stood in front of the woman, and when the pretty woman glanced up at her, Delia found herself wanting to kiss those tears away. I can't do this to myself. I've only been divorced for a couple of hours. Delia thought, knowing it wouldn't be right if she let herself get tangled up into someone else extremely quickly. "What's your story?" Delia asked, sitting next to the pretty yet sad woman.

"I lost my husband in a car crash," the words made Delia freeze as she processed what the woman was saying. Widow who is still processing. Nope. I will not sleep with her just yet. Delia smiled softly as she stood up, wanting to get a drink for her and the other woman.

"My condolences. Are you here to hide and drink?" Delia hoped that was the case because she knew all of the best drinks to get.

"I don't know any drinks," the woman was honest as she stared into Delia's eyes. "I'm Barbara," the woman finally told Delia her name as she realize how rude she must have been.

Delia waved off the apology that was on the woman's lips. "Well, Barbara, I'm Delia," she introduced herself to the widow. "I know some drinks. Are you allergic to anything?" Delia questioned, causing the woman to shake her head. Delia smiled softly at the other woman. "Perfect. I will get you some lovely drinks," Delia promised as she approached the bar, eager to impress the widow.

The bartender stared at Delia. "I'm trying to impress a grieving woman. Help me out," she handed the man an extra fifty dollars, causing him to nod his head.

"Of course," he promsied.
