Sharing a Bed

Summary:

Cordelia doesn’t do well with strangers. Luckily, Lilly is patient.

Work Text:

Cordelia squirmed in the bed, unable to get comfortable as she tried her hardest not to groan, knowing she was sharing the bed with a stranger. "Hey, sweetheart, you keep squirming," the stranger's words made Cordelia freeze. "Don't be like that, darling. I'm not upset. I'm worried," the woman told Cordelia, who bit her lip.

"I didn't expect to room with a stranger," the bird-watcher didn't mean to whine, but it was clear that the other woman wanted to know her feelings on the matter. Cordelia didn't expect the blonde-haired woman to chuckle at her response. Oh, she's not upset at all. The dark-skinned woman expected the other woman to react, but she still admitted that she didn't expect her to laugh.

"I'm sorry your plan to get a private room failed," the woman told Cordelia, and even though she wanted to show her frustration, Lilly had been nice enough to let her take the bed. However, Cordelia felt bad that the woman would have left with nothing but the pull-out bed, which wasn't comfortable. And yet, she was still willing to sleep on it so that I wouldn't be uncomfortable. Cordelia knew that all she had to do was calm down. Lilly was harmless. She was more worried about Cordelia wanting the bed all to herself. "I can still sleep on the couch, sweetheart," Lilly offered.

"This is your room," Cordelia was shocked at the woman's words. Lilly lovingly rolled her eyes at the woman's words.

"And? You're my guest," Lilly waved Cordelia's concerns. "I just want to make sure you're comfortable, and right now, you do not seem comfortable," Lilly stared into Cordelia's eyes, causing the other woman to feel flustered at the piercing gaze.

"I do not share beds with strangers," the bird-watcher told Lilly, whose eyes softened at the words. Lilly gently wrapped her arms around Cordelia, causing the woman to still. Lilly froze at the woman's reaction, but when Cordelia didn't make the move to push her arms away, Lilly finished wrapping her arms around the plump woman, gently pulling her closer to her chest. Cordelia breathed out sharply at the contact, and even so, she relaxed after a few moments, realizing that Lilly only wanted her to relax so she could peacefully sleep.

"How is this, sweetheart?" Lilly asked Cordelia, acting as if the woman hadn't just completely relaxed in her arms. Of course, Cordelia knew that the woman wanted her to respond, and once Cordelia caught her breath, she was honest with the taller woman.

"It's fine," Cordelia swallows thickly at how comfortable Lilly's arms made her feel, and soon, she fell asleep in the woman's arms. Once Cordelia had fallen into a deep sleep, Lilly smiled softly as she started to feel sleepy a few minutes after Cordelia had already fallen asleep. She finally felt comfortable. The woman thought as she pulled Cordelia even closer against her chest. I will definitely give Cordelia my number later. Lilly told herself as she slept.
