Chapter Text
Mondstadt was bustling once again, and forever peaceful. Beautiful— stunning! With the sun now over the horizon. That was what Durin thought when he peeked his head out the window on his tippy toes. His wings flapping to try and get him some height by flying.
“Be careful or you might hurt yourself, you know you're not at all your full size yet” Albedo’s voice came behind him.
When Durin turned his head, Albedo was set on watching his feet, like there was something there. Suspiciously, Durin looked at his feet as well. He found a furry little orange thing circling his legs.
“Careful not to step on the cat, Durin” Albedo commented when Durin was about to lay his feet flat on the ground cause he was tired on his tippy toes.
Cat, so that's what it was.
But Durin can't move now or he would hurt the little cat. But he was tired. He would fall any minute!
“Albedo! Brother help!” Durin yelled, wings flapping violently and he was close to tears. Damn child like human body!
Albedo chuckled before going to the boy half his size. Hoisting him up by his armpits.
“You are heavier than you look” Albedo commented, placing Durin back on the ground.
“You go along now, explore or whatever just don't wander out the city and just be sure to not cause casualties, we don't need another Klee running around”
Durin pouted, he was stuck in the city all because he was small, almost Klee’s size.
“If you don't like it then stay in the lab-”
“I'm going! I'm going!”
“Be sure to stay-!”
“Safe, yeah yeah, I know…” During mumbled, already walking down the stairs. Wait, he should have asked where the exit was. No no, he wouldn't go back to that stuffy lab. All Albedo had him do there was be his guinea pig and attendant, and it was boring. Durin would rather take to the skies, which he wasn't allowed to because he wasn't at all ‘complete’.
“Oh, so you're Durin?” a voice Durin didn't recognize asked. He turned his head, only to be met with someone with pink hair wearing red and white, even his cap was peculiar. Huh the pink haired guy looked more like cat? Or maybe vampire thing… he could even pass of being a dragon. Dragon wings would suit the pink haired guy. Realizing he was starting, rudely at that Durin strikes a conversation.
“Uh, hello pink haired cat- wait no, bat uhhh dragon is much more fitting… guy”
The pink haired cat slash bat slash dragon guy laughed, rude. It made Durin pout.
“Unique nickname, but the names Dahlia so you wouldn't waste your saliva saying that again” Dahlia, pink haired cat- oh you get it guy grinned and oh Durin can see fangs, or maybe they're just pointed teeth. Uh Durin you're staring, again!
“Anyway, where you off to little guy?” Dahlia asked.
Little guy? Little guy?! Of course he may look little now but he would be atleast Dahlia’s height in about… four days, yeah! Four days, the spell just needed to complete it's true course.
“Alright geez, you don't like being called little, no need to pout like that, it doesn't help you either way” Dahlia shrugged. That was the moment that During decided he liked dragon guy. Yes, dragon, cause Durin is a dragon, he needed more dragon friends and frankly Dahlia's name starts with the letter D, like Durin.
“Where are you going? What were you doing here?” Durin asked, walking down the very few flight of stairs to get to where Dahlia was.
Dahlia blinked, now registering the very much prominent height gap between him and the thousand years dragon. And needless to say, Durin just threw Dahlia's question back at him. Anyway, Dahlia just resigned himself to Durin’s antics.
“Well… I was just giving… ahem a report to Master Jean about some conflict with two individuals…” he feigned a cough “Anyway I'm going back to the church, wanna come with?” no issue right? Just taking a thousand years old kid on a little field trip.
Yeahhhh
It was chaos.
