Summary
Every time, it’s a lethal poison; almost all of her victims are men. They go quietly and quickly, appearing as if it were a mere accident. And the signature detail? Flowers.
It’s how Hanbyeol had come up with the nickname for her. The first killing of hers that had really drawn Hanbyeol’s attention was in Paris a couple of years ago. Admirably neat and clean. She had used a high dosage of a fast-acting neurotoxin injected via syringe into the back of the neck. This hadn't been impulsive.
But there was something about that display that had struck Hanbyeol. The deceased’s body had been decorated with an outline of freshly picked daisies. A contrast between an image of something so delicate and full of life, almost pretty, against the macabre reality of a sapped corpse lying in the dingy backstreets of the French capital.
It was like she wanted someone to see the scene and know she had done it, like she wanted Hanbyeol to see it.
Or, Sung Hanbyeol, an analyst working in the archives at MI5, finds herself playing cat and mouse with Zhang Hua, an international assassin who is better known by her codename Fleur.
