Blair hums along with the playlist blasting in the room as she sharpens some batarangs. She still thinks that's a kind of dumb name since they are more like shurikens if anything but Dick named them and she loves her boy’s whimsical little thoughts. And batrikens don’t roll off the tongue as good as batarangs in her opinion.
The warm and fuzzy scent of joy slinks around the room. It’s from all over the room, mostly in the nesting room that sits across from Blair. The mass of pillows is a little messy and smells mostly of strawberries and waffles. The girls must have nested together after patrol last night. She will ask them to clean it up when they come home. Blair blinks as she feels a small slice on her finger. She watches the blood slowly start to pool to her finger and start sliding down her hand.
Oh, she was too distracted, she sat her tools on the bench and went to the lab’s sink to wash the small cut. She grabs a bandage from the drawer, wrapping the white absorbent around the middle of her index finger.
A soft whoosh and a red cape in the corner of her eye pulls her attention from her task. Blair glances over her shoulder as Celeste lands quietly behind her. A beautiful smile overtakes Celeste's sweet face, her stardust and ozone scent sweetened with joy. She was still dressed up as Superwoman, she must have just gotten back from saving someone. Celeste approaches Blair and kisses her forehead.
Blair hums questioningly but still happily accepts the affection from her Alpha. Warm joy pulls at her heartstrings and she feels purrs rise from deep in her chest. Celeste gently takes Blair by the hips, slowly starting to lift up, barely an inch from the ground. Blair takes hold onto Celeste's broad shoulders, “What are you doing?”
“Oh nothing,” Celeste said, rumbling in response to her purrs. “I just want to go on a little flight.”
“Right nOW?” Blair yelps as Celeste suddenly takes off, her ears popping and she tightens her grip on Celeste. Realistically, she knows she won’t fall, Celeste would probably catch her before she even realizes she was falling in the first place but she still has human reactions to suddenly being at least 100 feet in the air.
Celeste grins down at Blair and gestures behind her. “Isn’t it beautiful in its own way?” She whispers as she adjusts Blair into a more secure position, bringing her legs up around Celeste’s waist.
Blair sighs as she looks to where Celeste was looking towards.
The sky was mostly clear today, a beautiful blue that was occasionally broken up by soft white clouds. Wind swept her hair back and the sun was still shining, warming up Gotham’s usually rain covered streets. Blair smiled softly, “It is.” Her voice sounds so much quieter than usual.
Celeste flies further upwards and positions them in a more horizontal position, Blair now resting her head on Celeste’s primary colored chest. Celeste gently takes Blair’s face in her hands. Blair looks up at Celeste, her eyes a bright blue, so similar to the blue of the sky surrounding them. She could get lost in those beautiful eyes, so different from her own murky grey-blue ones.
“You’re beautiful,” Blair said quietly, with as much love as she can pull from her closed off heart.
Celeste gently squeezes Blair and smiles down at her, “You’re one to talk, Ms. Gotham’s Princess.”
