The mirror

Summary:

This is just some poetry I wrote.

Chapter 1: Trapped

Chapter Text

Let me explain this. When I look at a mirror I am not looking at myself. I am looking at the cage I am trapped in.

Every time I see myself I wonder “is this how others see me?” Because this is not right.

The skin on my arm stretches but the cuts there are pulled apart. They burn. They ache. But I will not stop.

My body is wrong. Every part is wrong. I do not tell others. And so I tell you here.

Every day. Every night. Do others look at themselves and think “that is not me.”

Out, please. I want out. This is not mine.

Under my smile is pain. I say hello, I say goodbye, I tell you I’m fine. You listen.

The skin on my wrists is bleeding. The blood flows down my arms. It flows through my body, the body that isn’t mine. It tears me apart. I wish to tear it apart.
