Summary
Following the ruin of the casino by the Cup brothers, the Devil is left severely injured and humiliated. He fully expects his scorned second-in-command, King Dice, to abandon him—especially since the mortal's contract was destroyed, granting him total freedom.
However, Dice stays, diligently tending to his boss for six long, silent months.
The story centers on the reckoning that occurs once the Devil is healed. Confused and deeply ashamed by Dice's inexplicable loyalty, the Devil is forced to confront the true emotional cost of his cruelty. Dice, exhausted and bruised from his own hidden efforts, finally forces the Lord of Darkness to acknowledge the difference between servitude and devotion.
