That finally gets Eddie to actually look at him, chuckling as a real smile stretches across his face.
“I know you do,” he responds with a twinkle in his eyes. They sit there for a second, and it's almost like nothing's changed. They're looking at each other, smiling, almost communicating through just a look like they used to. It only lasts a moment, though, before Eddie turns back to carefully studying the plate before him.
or; Things have been weird between Buck and Eddie ever since Buck moved into his new place. Maybe a housewarming dinner, s'mores, and some firelight will finally get them to talk to each other.
