Summary:

Yuna Yumeno realizes that she has feelings for Aoi—her persocom, after her parents introduce her to her fiancé, Ren Watanabe, who also happens to be her childhood friend.

Yuna was always a loner. After her depressive episode and her college rejection, her parents thought she wouldn't survive the real world after highschool, and thought she wouldn't make any more friends, so they decided to marry her off with the only boy she knows.

Ren is a good boy. Yuna isn't entirely opposed to the idea of marrying him, but something—or someone else is calling her. What will she do?

Chapter 1: People

Chapter Text

My blanket clung onto my torso as I rolled in bed. I was still sleepy, even though the AC was off. I never like being sweaty. Then, I heard someone come into my room.

"Yuna... Yuuunaaa..." she muttered, tugging my blanket.

That voice is familiar. It sounds just like mine—it must be Aoi.

"Mh, Aoi?" I yawned, "It's a Saturday morning, let me sleep..."

Aoi stopped tugging the blanket and decided to shake me awake, "You need to wake up, take a shower, and get dressed. There will be guests soon." She said, her long black hair draped over my face.

... Guests?

It's probably just my mom or dad inviting their friends over.

"They're coming to see you."

...

They're coming to... see me? Why?

Then Aoi pulls the blanket and rolls me out of bed. I fell on the wooden floor.

"Ah, ow!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry, I forgot you could feel pain." She said calmly.

I laughed dryly, "Very funny."

I shrugged and got up on my own. At the very least, none of my limbs hurt when they move.

"Yuna, I haven't prepared your bath—"

"It's okay."

When the cold water began streaming down, I couldn't help but think about the guest that'll be visiting and meeting me.

What could be so important? Can't I just hide in my room all day like I always do?

Is it a friend? why would they just come here on short notice without telling me? Not just my parents—me?

Not that I have any friends anyway.

After the shower, I immediately saw Aoi picking outfits for me.

I took a glance at the paired clothing laid on my bed, "They look the same."

"They're the only clothes you have in there, idiot," Aoi crossed her arms, "Pick one."

I looked at the clothes again, thinking for a bit.

"There's barely any difference..."

Aoi hummed, "Should I pick one out for you?"

I nodded, "Fine."

Aoi walked to one of the options and pointed at it.

"Put this on. I'll fold the other clothes."

I nodded, "Okay, but... don't peek."

It feels kind of weird to say that. She's just a robot, but I still feel shy thinking about... that. It's never happened, but I'm scared she'll tease me.

I mean, she looks just like a human—just like me, even. Except for the long hair and blue eyes, and her persocom ears that kind of look like my headphones.

I slipped into the clothes Aoi picked out for me, and looked in the mirror. I only realized how lacey and frilly it was now.

A grey henley top, a white lace camisole under it, and a black denim skirt that didn't go past up my fingers.

Aoi finished putting the clothes away and looked at me. She put her hands on my shoulders, "Do you like it?"

"It's really girly," I replied, fidgeting with the skirt.

"It suits you," Aoi giggled. "You'll knock him dead."

I almost got distracted by how she looked at me with those glowing blue eyes, and how her hair fell over her shoulder when she hugged me.

I cleared my throat, "Knock who dead?"

When I looked at Aoi, she was already pursing her lips.

"Did my mom tell you not to say anything?"

Aoi smirked and kept quiet.

"Uh, whatever."

"Yuna, come downstairs! They're here!" my mom yelled.

"Yeah, coming mom!"
