    Summary

Angel flipped the photo around to find a note scrawled on the back reading, "California isn’t the same without you. Come back when you can. Miss you, Aiya." A warm feeling bloomed in his chest. For a second, he thought that’s what home looked like, though he wasn’t entirely sure why. It just felt so familiar, like some odd sense of nostalgia for a beach he never visited. He could feel the warmth turn into confusion, so he decided not to dwell on it further. Besides, a place as beautiful as that wasn’t meant for a devil like him. Angel knew that very well. There was someone it was more suited for…

Angel carefully hopped off the stool and approached Aki, unsurprised to see he hadn’t changed his position this entire time.

“Hey, you. Look at this.” Angel held out the photo.

“What is it?” Aki asked, skeptical. Angel was relieved to see the crease in his brow smooth over slightly as he studied the picture.

“How would you feel about running away to a place like this?”

Or: After a mission, Aki and Angel spend a quiet night together. An AkiAngel fic loosely inspired by Wong Kar Wai's Fallen Angels (1995).
