Work Text:
“Wednesday pleaseeee, it’ll be so fun you have to come.” Enid was avidly stuffing her rainbow duffel bag full of clothing and hygiene products, stopping for a second to turn to her roommate that was packing up her typewriter.
“I know you hate people and fun and everything that has to do with sleepovers but I reallyyyyy want you there and I made sure Yoko bought your favorite, black licorice.”
Wednesday faced her overexcited roommate with a begrudging look, staring at Enid like she might as well have asked Wednesday to dye her hair rainbow.
“I would rather gauge my own eyeballs out with a sharpened spoon from the school cafeteria”
“Pleaseeeee Wens, I promise you don’t have to engage too much in all those ‘idiotic social pursuits’ but I already told them you’re coming so pack your duffel bag because you’re going.” Enid leans dependently on her right hip while crossing her arms, looking at Wednesday with a stern, witty look.
“Fine. Ask anything more of me and I will skin you alive.” Wednesday will never admit it, but she has a soft spot for her roommate, she tolerated her more than anyone else. Truthfully, Wednesday enjoyed her presence, maybe even a bit more than she can admit to herself.
Enid tossed a black duffel bag towards the goth’s shiny platform boots while skipping to the bathroom to touch up her eyeliner. Wednesday began to pack, placing a black and white set of pajamas, as well as a black sweater, pair of pants, socks, and undergarments over her 12 pack of various sized knives.
Enid rushed out of the bathroom, slinging her bag over her shoulder, skipping to the door. She held the door for Wednesday, who begrudgingly sauntered through to the hall, making her way down to Yoko’s dorm. Enid knocked in a joyful musical pattern, eager to begin a night that she’s been looking forward to all week; now even more due to the presence of her roommate.
“Enid! Come in come innn!!” Yoko opened the door, giddily running into Enid, engulfing her in her arms while jumping on her in an excited manner. Wednesday stood behind this horrific scene, with a disgusted look on her face. As Yoko guided them to the living room, Enid grabbed Wednesday’s hand in an effort to drag her to the loud, boisterous gathering consisting of Ajax, Bianca, Divina, Xavier, Eugene, and of course, Yoko, Enid, and begrudgingly, Wednesday. Although, the slight contact between the two roommates brought a tint of red to the otherwise pale face of the goth.
Yoko’s dorm was sectioned into a living room/kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. A wall with a counter top that divided the living area from the kitchen, allowing for a more open concept, as Principal Weems called it. In the living room lied a full couch as well as a reclining chair, both the color of Nevermore’s shade of blue. All of the students sat on the ground in a circle however, Wednesday choosing to sit between Eugene and Enid. They sat on a soft, fuzzy rug, surrounded by pillows and throw blankets, making the atmosphere rather cozy to everyone except Wednesday, who was appalled at the myriad of colorful stuffed animals and crotched pillows. She flinched in aversion, realizing her hand was touching a pink, fluffy blanket with lettering that spelt ‘Juicy’ on it.
“Hey Wednesday I’m glad you decided to come!” Ajax waved at her in a friendly manner as she looked up, sitting in a perfect posture that looked like it was far too uncomfortable to replicate.
“Don’t get used to my company, I do not plan on staying to be bombarded with your moronic recreations. I have more important matters to attend to that does not include… frivolous games.” Wednesday looked down with disgust to find board games and party favors scatter across the floor in the middle of the circle.
“If you want to leave so badly why don’t you, don’t you always get what you want.” Bianca snarked in a sense of sarcasm, for she and Wednesday have began to look over the constant feud of rivalry since saving each other from Crackstone; Wednesday still did not like Bianca, but Wednesday didn’t like anyone, except for her family and Enid, which she’ll never admit to.
“Because she’s joking and she’s going to have so much fun, right Wednesday?” Enid looked to her right, glaring at Wednesday in a ‘dominant but begging way’.
“I suppose so.” Wednesday wished nothing more than to be cast out of the spell Enid had seemed to play on her. Whatever Enid wanted, Wednesday always rushed to do or get. Whenever Enid was sick or tired, her favorite snacks mysteriously appeared in the cupboards after Wednesday had gotten back from unknown business. When Enid complained about a guy in her calculus class being mean towards her, the next day he suddenly said ‘good morning’ to her in a timid motion. All Enid could notice however was his black eye bandaged forehead, and arm in a sling. He never made so much as a joking remark to Enid for the rest of the semester before he dropped out of the school for “personal reasons,” but everyone saw him being hoisted out into an ambulance, and behind him, a smirking goth girl with a suspicious looking duffel bag. But that’s what friends do, right?
“Okay what should we do first, I set out a ton of snacks, games, and movies for us but I’m so indecisive.” Yoko sat in between Enid and her girlfriend Divina, smuggling next to her as she looked around waiting for someone to make a decision.
“I say we watch a movie.” Xavier laid back, leaning on the couch with his arms crossed.
“Ooooo I agree, I just saw this great sci-fi film called ‘No One Will Save You”, it’s on Hulu.” Eugene chimed in
“No I meant more like a mystery, like ‘Forgotten’.” Xavier said in an egotistical tone.
Ajax looked around, “What about an action, I could so go for a Tom Cruise movie.”
“Maybe, or maybe a thriller, after all shouldn’t this sleepover be the most exciting sleepover ever?” Bianca scrolled on her phone, looking for Reddit’s top 15 thriller movies.
“No no no, we HAVE to watch the newest rom com movie with Sandra Bullock, she’s so good!” Enid exclaimed.
“If you truly wish to find a good film, psychological horror is the most exuberant form of cinema. It displays forms of electrifying mortality and torture, not enough as it could be but it is the closest Hollywood has come to entertainment.” Everyone stared at Wednesday, who sat still in perfect posture with a straight expression, insistent on her suggestion.
“Um… maybe we should play a game instead…” Yoko turned off the TV using the remote, tired of clicking through the alphabet searching for each person’s new suggestion
“What about truth or dare?” Divina held onto Yoko’s bicep, looking at her in a fun but flirty way.
“Yesssss I’m so down” Bianca shifted forward as to show she was ready for the game, others nodding in agreement and eagerly excited.
“Okay okay, who wants to go first. I think we should go in order so whoever gets picked can pick the next person and so on.” Yoko said, getting ready to embarrass her friends.
“I agree, I’ll go first.” Ajax replied
“Okay, Ajax. Truth or Dare?” Yoko looked at him, locking eyes with the gorgon.
“Hmmm… I’ll go dare.”
“Okay… I dare you to show us your 3 most recently deleted search history questions.” Yoko smirked.
“Oh god, you’re joking. Can I switch my thing, I chose truth, I chose truth please.” Ajax turned pale, begging for his life to switch.
“Nope, rules are rules, now hand over your phone.” Bianca swiped Ajax’s phone, who tried desperately to get it back but failed.
“Okay let’s see” Bianca opened up the Safari search engine, making way to the ‘recently deleted’ tab. “Okay, number one, ‘Buzzfeed Gay Spectrum Quiz.’”
“WHAT?” Enid shot up. “Okay wait, Ajax’s you’re gay??”
Ajax looked down, “um yeah, I think atleast. Im atleast bisexual, Im just a bit confused if I like girls or not. I’m sorry I know we dated for awhile but”
“It’s okay, since you were kinda forced to come out, I have something to say too.” Enid took a breath. “I’m pansexual. I like men, women, everybody. I’ve been meaning to come out for awhile I just haven’t found the right time.”
Everyone looked around, silent, waiting for anyone to speak. Yoko chimed in.
“Girl we all knew that, I’m just surprised by the fact that you like men.”
“Wait what.” Enid’s face dropped in confusion, staring at everybody who were trying not to giggle.
Yoko took her hand, “Enid we all knew you were a token gay, haven’t you noticed the way you look at a certain someone?” Her eyes discreetly flickered to Wednesday before she was nudged aggressively by Enid.
“Wait so you all knew?”
“I thought you were a full on lesbian Sinclair.” Bianca smugly admitted, Divina and Xavier nodding in agreement.
“Whatever, I’m proud of it! And anyways we still have two more searches from Ajax’s phone so let’s get to it.” Enid rolled her eyes, turning her gaze back to Bianca, who held the phone in her hands.
“Okay okay, number two: ‘How to tell what my type is.’ Basic.” Bianca remarked. “Anddd number three: ‘I think I am attracted to femboys.”
Everybody looked at Ajax, who was now hiding in his hands, with an embarrassed expression on his face. Bianca and Yoko held back their laughter while Enid reached over to pat Ajax on the back. Wednesday did not quite understand what a ‘femboy’ entailed but she was sure she did not want to find out.
“Can we please move on, I believe it is my turn.” Ajax said, shifting shyly under one of the many blankets on the floor.
He turned to face the vampire, grinning. “Yoko, truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“When was the last time you were mad at Divina?”
“Oh come on why is that any of your business” Divina started to ramble but was cut off by Yoko, who put her hand on Divina’s thigh.
“Okay, like a few weeks ago I was sick from the flu or whatever and I asked Divina to pick me up some fast food because I was craving it. I didn’t specify because I was in the mood for most things and I figured my girlfriend would know what I like. And you know what she brought back? ARBYS. This girl brought back Arby’s for her sick girlfriend that she claims to love. Like are we serious???”
“IM SORRY I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE IT” Divina started to laugh, knowing her girlfriend will never let her hear the end of it.
“Their mystery meat is the driest thing ever, I can’t taste any blood when trying to chew that rubber.” Yoko said, joining in on the group’s laughter.
“Whatever.” Divina went back to snuggling with Yoko, who was panning out her victim.
“Xavier. Truth or Dare?”
“Umm dare.”
“Okay, I dare you to text Tyler Galpin and ask him on a date.”
“Absolutely not. I’m not gay dude and if I was, Tyler would be the last person I would ever consider.”
While Xavier was raveling on about why he couldn’t fulfill his dare, Ajax had already grabbed his phone, sending a message to Tyler asking him out for next Friday at the Weathervane.
“And also, what if this got out and all the girls think I’m gay?” Xavier said.
“Believe me they already do.” Wednesday remarked, though seeming uninterested in the current topic.
“Well too bad because Tyler responded and he said yes! Get ready for Friday buddy, you officially have a date at 7:00 pm sharp.” Ajax tossed the phone back to Xavier, grinning.
“What??? I’m going to kill you, all of you. I cannot believe you just did that. This is so unfair.” Xavier frantically grabbed his phone to check his messages, realizing the damage had already been done. Everyone else, except Wednesday, was falling over from laughter. Enid had to wipe a tear away from the scene of Xavier being forced to enter a gay situationship. Xavier finally looked up from his phone.
“Okay fine. You wanna play dirty? It’s my turn now.” He faced Ajax with a darkening look.
“Ajax, truth or dare?”
“Wait you can’t do that I already went and we haven’t made it all around yet.” Ajax looked around hoping for agreement amongst his friends, who were nodding along.
“Fine, coward.” Xavier looked around the circle, eyes landing on Wednesday.
“Don’t even think about it you petulant imbecile, I shun any attempts made to get me to participate in this brainless activity.” Wednesday reached for her knives at the bottom of her duffel bag when a warm hand held her forearm.
“Pleaseeee Wednesday, just one turn??” Enid looked at Wednesday with puppy eyes that she could never say no to, prompting Wednesday to softly nod in annoyance towards Xavier, who was now mischievously grinning.
“Dare. Make it good Thorpe, it better be worth my time.” Wednesday said, already regretting her descision but knowing it would make Enid happy.
“The power I have to make Wednesday Addams to whatever I want?” Xavier smiled.
“I’ll make it simple so you don’t end up slitting my throat in the middle of tonight, I dare you to sit on Enid’s lap for the next 3 rounds.”
Both girls immediately shot up. Enid turned the color of a rose; Wednesday turned the color of blood.
“Why me?” Enid’s heart was racing, knowing she was far too excited for a stupid dare.
“Yes and why must I sit on her.” Wednesday too was excited, she felt moths tingling in her stomach as she imagined being close to the intoxicating touch and aroma of her roommate.
“Because it’s funny—-Wednesday having to engage in physical contact with someone, especially a person who is cover in rainbows and who’s a rainbow themself.”
“Fine. Only because I always follow through with everything, including your murders that will be happening tonight.” Wednesday moved to where her knees were on the ground, propping her body from her thighs and up to stand. She towered over Enid, who was now blushing even harder.
“May I?” Wednesday cocked an eyebrow before Enid nodded, widening her lap to make room for the girl she so desperately wanted on her already.
Wednesday turned and grabbed Enid’s shoulder before descending on top her lap gracefully, feeling Enid’s hand instinctively reach for her waist to guide her down. They both awkwardly avoided eye contact, not daring to catch sight of their crush being so close to them. Enid felt a burning sensation across hers cheeks sparking all across her body, eager to embrace Wednesday’s body; her scent, her warmth, her soft but rough skin that no one has ever had the privilege of being so close to.
Wednesday was new to this, she didn’t know why she felt this way or what it meant, but she knew she wanted to be closer to Enid. This isn’t what friends feel like.
Wednesday could only compare these feelings she had for Enid to what her father feels for her mother: the desire to serve and worship the gorgeous woman with helpless vulnerability. Even the thought of such feelings would cause Wednesday give herself a standardized lobotomy, but this, this was different. She felt at home with Enid, she felt that her guard was let down around her, but not in the way that Wednesday was always so worried about.
As the game went on, Wednesday found Enid’s hand to move slightly closer to her side, the radiating warmth almost melting the pale girl’s skin, yet she did not dare to move.
“Wensssss” Wednesday shot out of her trace to find Enid placing her hand on Wednesday’s shoulder, slinging her arm across her back.
“We are doing one more round then we are all going to bed, I know sleepovers are supposed to be about staying up late but I need my beauty sleep. If I don’t get enough rest then my werewolf cycle can seriously get messed up.”
“Well no one would want to harm the princess” Bianca scoffed jokingly. But Wednesday did not take it as such.
“Don’t you make Kent carry all your items for you? And don’t you own 23 pairs of heels? I would refrain calling Enid such affronting language out of your own hypocrisy.
“Oh my god relax it was a joke. I think we all need to go to bed now, although I feel like I’m going to be smothered in my sleep by a certain someone.” Bianca said, unraveling her legs from the crossed position she has been in for hours that has cause her left foot to feel like pins and needles as she readjusts herself.
“I’d sleep with one eye open. I’d recommend both but I know you’re incapable of such arduous activities.” Wednesday stared blankly getting a concerned look from Yoko.
“Ummmmm okay… I’m going to got ignore that and just go over sleeping arrangements. Okay Ajax, Xavier, and Eugene are sleeping on the couch, Bianca had the reclining chair, Divina and I are taking my bed, and Enid and Wednesday have the guest room.”
Everyone slowly stretched out of their cemented positions in attempt to get up, careful not to step on any crumbs of popcorn left on the rug that Yoko would procrastinate vacuuming.
Bianca grabbed her blanket and jumped on the recliner, tucking herself in and put a sleep mask over herself. The boys had already fallen asleep on the ground, sleeping so closely that together they looked like a pack of sardines——oddly sized ones however. Yoko and Divina were heading to their room, but made a quick pause to wink at Enid who was blushing as Wednesday finally rose off of her lap and offered her hand for Enid to get up.
“Oh thank you!” Enid said, internally giddy for the slight second of hand touching. Wednesday did not respond verbal but gave a slight nod, her form of saying please and you’re welcome to everything, not like she said it often, however.
Wednesday picked up her and Enid’s bags, following Enid to the guest bedroom only to find it in dim candle lighting, with an open window letting in the sound of soft rain.
Enid crashed on the bed, rolling to the middle and stretching out like a starfish. Wednesday would kill anyone who took up her space like that, but for Enid, she merely snuck on the outskirt of the bed, being careful as to not disrupt the blonde in her moment of recollection.
“Sooo, you stayed!!!” Enid rolled over to face Wednesday but offering the goth more room on the bed.
“Yes I suppose I did.”
“Thank you thank you thank youuuuu. I know you definitely hated it and I don’t know how we managed to get you to stay for so long but I’m so glad.”
“I posit, it was quite eventful. I am happy I came, it is not everyday where I get to sit on your lap.” Wednesday smirked, almost obviously flirty. Wednesday flirting is something that no one has ever seen or has been killed before being able to share their experience of it, for it was truly a grand sight that caught Enid off guard. Yet she knew that it wasn’t because Wednesday was flirting, it’s because Wednesday was flirting with her.
“I-um, you didn’t mind? I didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable or anything.”
“I was plenty comfortable, actually you’re quite a soft person to sit on, much kinder on my vertebral column than the floor.” Wednesday patted down the pillow on the right side of the bed and proceeded to stiffly lie down, much in the way a dead person is placed in their casket.
“That’s not what I meant—-nevermind.” The girls were now lying mere inches apart, as the bed was nothing but a full size that was bare with the exception of two plush pillows and a white comforted with withering blue stripes.
They fell into a comfortable silence, both of them observing the small but cozy room while the lingering thought of the other beside them made them have a growing feeling of despair yet hope. Enid could never imagine that Wednesday even thought of her as a friend, not even a tolerable person, much less any sort of romantic situation. Enid wasn’t even sure what a romantic relationship with Wednesday would look like, nor did she think she could handle it; but that was the least of Enid’s worries, for her mind was far too focused on the slight silver in Wednesdays dark eyes, the one piece of hair in her bangs that refuse to cooperate in direction compared to the rest, the way Enid feels genuinely jubilant when Wednesday halts her writing time to listen to Enid’s rants on everything she possible interacted with in the past six hours.
It was only for Enid that Wednesday cut into her writing time, because little did she know it or not, Viper’s love interest was slowly growing into resemblance of her once irritating roommate—-one who could be seen miles away with strikingly bright glitter, one who made their room into the vibes of gay club. The slow repentance of these colors slowed Wednesdays realization that she looked for these “obnoxious” colors wherever she went, and they only reminded her of one person, someone she seemed to never be able to get out of her head.
Just as Wednesday began to recall her memories of watching Trolls in the theater complex with Enid, she felt an arm wrap around her waist and a head huddling in to the side of her chest. She looked down only to find a bob of blonde hair with colorful streaks resting on her and a pale but rather warm arm resting upon her own stomach. She looked down to meet the eyes of the girl her stomach was shuddering for only to be met with closed, relaxed eyes that blocked Wednesday’s new found favorite color: a vibrant blue that could only be found in Enid’s irises. With that, Wednesday was about to turn off the lamp and go to bed herself, but she felt the girl on top of her shift slightly.
Enid slowly peaked up only to realize she had accidentally made it into Wednesday’s prized personal space.
“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry Wens I was just tired and I’m used to my own bed I’m sorry.” She quickly began pushing with her arms to go back on her side of the bed before being stopped from a strong arm that grabbed her right side, not letting her move any further.
“Stay, please.” Wednesday was quieter now, but determined. She slowly guided Enid back onto her body to rest, stroking her hair with her black coated fingernails, wondering if what she had done was too much.
Enid looked up, her head near Wednesday chest but eyes locked on the piercing black eyes. Her left hand traveled to Wednesdays’s pale cheek, stroking it with her thumb as she shifted her body further onto Wednesday and closer to her face. Wednesday gently placed her hands on both sides of Enid’s waist, careful to do the things she researched secretly in preparation for if this movement ever came—-yet Wednesday did not have to do much more before Enid closed the gap.
She pulled Wednesday closer, while simultaneously relocating herself to be over the girl. Her knees were relaxed to either side of Wednesday, her left hand still on her cheek but more forcefully, more needy, while her right traveled up Wednesday’s body. Enid was stunned to the well curved, fit girl that hid under baggy black clothing.
Soon, their tongues began to explore, and Enid shifted her legs to being around Wednesdays left thigh for comfort. The kissing continued, and Wednesday noticed a small moan slipping every time she moved her left leg up to push Enid closer, prompting her to begin slowly grinding her knee against the desperate girl that was ontop of her.
The initial movement caught Enid by surprise, as she was unsure of how to act civil to the pleasure hitting her, but with Wednesday doing all the work and kissing down Enid’s neck, she felt relaxed and overjoyed. Wednesday slowly sucked on Enid’s skin, leaving faint marks across her neck. The grinding continued, and as Enid got more and more desperate she began to ride Wednesdays thigh, impatient to the growing desire to climax.
Wednesday heard the restless girls needs through small moans and gasps, finally giving in and pushing down on Enid’s hips, creating a intoxicating force between Enid’s legs that soon reached its max, causing Enid to let out a much louder moan, prompting Wednesday to shut her up with a passionate kiss. The two slowly began working their way back down to a rest, gently resting their legs and Enid’s weight back onto Wednesday.
As their breathing slowed, they glanced at each other and smiled in a glowing beam that no one had ever seen from Wednesday, but neither Enid. Enid had always been considered a joyful person, but she has never experienced a greater moment than finally succumbing to the acts she dreamed of with the girl she dreamed of doing it with.
As Enid’s head began to fall back on Wednesday’s chest, she snuggled into her body, absorbing the smell of the girl she had dreamt about for so long but always assumed she would only be able to fall asleep on the other side of the room of her. But now she was lying on her chest, listening to the slowing of her heartbeats as she too was lulled to sleep by the calmness of Enid’s scent and warmth. They both drifted off in each other’s arms, finally at ease with the sinking feeling of falling for your best friend that you assumed would never like you back for who you were.
