BEEP BEEP"
"Damn, that was a sick dream... I wish I was that popular with the girls for real. Alright, stop dreaming, Caelus! What time is it now, huh?" The gray-haired teen checked his watch and immediately jolted.
"S-SIX-FIFTY?!" The dude shot up from his bed and bolted straight to the bathroom.
A few minutes later, he FINALLY emerged in his uniform, which looked like total ass. His tie was dangling on his right shoulder, his collar was messed up, his belt was loose... but he couldn't care less. He quickly pulled on his socks, grabbed his motor key, and rushed out the door.
"I'm outta here!"
As soon as he hit the school parking lot, Cae parked his bike next to the pink and blue clunker—definitely March’s—and immediately sprinted toward the front gate.
"For the love of Aeons, please tell me the Student Council ain't out here!"
The teen peered left and right to make sure the coast was clear. Thinking he was safe, he carefully climbed the black gate.
"Pfft, pro move. Now I just gotta find a way out of th-"
"DAN HENG! IT'S CAELUS!"
Cae was instantly startled and whipped his head toward the field to see who yelled.
It was March. She was absolutely melting while saluting under the blazing-hot flag in a field that felt hotter than the pits of hell.
"Dan! Look, Cae is late too!"
"Caelus..."
"WOAH, DAN HENG, CHILL!"
Dan Heng swiftly grabbed Caelus, who was trying to bail.
"No hat, sloppy uniform... Caelus, you'll be saluting next to March for 25 minutes, alright?"
"..." "..."
"Dude, 25 minutes sucks."
"Shut your mouth, March."
"haha sorry”
"Uhh, seriously, why the hell did you ditch me, March?!"
"I woke up late too, and Dan Heng just left me, so I had to use that ugly bike again."
Caelus let out a small laugh. "Pfft—even your own boyfriend ditched you. Maybe stop sleeping like a log, March."
"Hey! You're one to talk!"
"Me? Nah, I'm d-"
Dan Heng suddenly tapped the pink-haired girl's shoulder and gently kissed her forehead.
"A-uh... Dan Heng, I'm sorry."
"It's fine, but don't be late next time, okay?"
"Yay! Thanks!"
March quickly pecked his cheek, which immediately went red, and dashed off to her class.
"Ugh, Dan Heng only cares about his girlfriend! No love for me?"
"Caelus, you still have 15 minutes left. I suggest you to shut up, or I'll add 10 more."
"I'm gonna kill you, Heng." Caelus grumbled and instantly returned to his rigid saluting posture.
While Caelus was suffering his punishment, his twin, Stelle, was happily skipping class and chilling, hiding behind a wall.
"Psst, psst, Cae-" Stelle whispered.
"Man... I miss my boo"
"Hey!"
"Why do I feel like I'm hearing ghost whispers...?" Caelus looked around.
"Oi, you big idiot! Get over here!" Stelle’s shouting startled Caelus, and he quickly checked if Dan Heng was gone.
After looking around and not finding Dan Heng anywhere, he finally hid with Stelle behind the ivy-covered fence.
"Thanks for saving me, twin. What the hell are you doing here anyway?" Caelus squatted down next to Stelle.
"Selling drugs."
"for real?"
"Nah, idiot! I have a pop quiz today so I'd rather just skip class."
"What subject is it?"
"Physics, but Mr. Ratio is subbing, not Mr. Anaxa."
"Oh, figures. Where is Mr. Anaxa anyway?"
"No idea, but they say he's currently have something important with ms. aglaea."
"Because he's so obsessed with Agl-" Their conversation stopped when someone tapped Stelle's shoulder.
"Oh, so this is where you two are? Gossiping instead of going to class." Ms. Aglaea immediately twisted both of their ears, making them stand up.
"Stelle, class, NOW."
"Y-y-yes, ma'am!" Stelle immediately ran back to class, where she was instantly scolded by Mr. Ratio.
"You..."
"Y-yes, ma'am?"
"Get back out there! 30 more minutes of saluting!" Aglaea dragged Caelus to the field.
"Aw, come on ma'am..."
"NOW." Aglaea twisted Caelus's ear harder.
"YES MA'AM!"
The break bell rang. People started flooding in, turning the previously empty field, cafeteria, and co-op into bustling crowds.
Firefly, who was happily watering plants, suddenly stepped on something odd. She looked down and found Caelus, melted and blended with the dirt.
"W-wait, Caelus?!" Firefly stepped back from where she had been standing.
"Babe, help your overheating boyfriend out, please..."
"Could you, like, stand up first...?" Firefly set her watering can on a step.
After Caelus returned to his normal self, his cheek was immediately pecked by his shy girlfriend.
"T-there!" Firefly smiled and blushed, instantly looking away, not wanting to see her boyfriend's face.
"Aww, thank you, Flyy." Caelus thanked her and tried to hug her before they both turned around after hearing a super loud argument in the corridor.
"AVENTURINE."
"Yeah, what's up babe~?" Aventurine leaned against the wall.
"Y-you!" Topaz angrily sighed before trying to compose herself again.
"What's wrong darling, got enchanted by my beauty aren't ya~?"
"Fix your damn uniform, immediately!" Topaz failed to hold back her anger.
"Fine, I'll obey, just to make my girlfriend happy~"
"Girlfriend?"
"Yeah, my girlfriend who's currently yelling at me for being sloppy."
"AVENTURINE!!" Aventurine finally got smacked by Topaz's notebook.
Meanwhile, at the infirmary...
"Jiaoqiu! I fell again!" Feixiao casually opened the infirmary door with a ridiculously bloody knee.
"Feixiao, s-sit down, oh my god!" Jiaoqiu immediately led Feixiao to the bed.
"I told you, that wound from last week needs time to heal... Why did you go all out in P.E. today, Feixiao...?" Jiaoqiu sighed worriedly while looking for medicine and bandages in the first-aid kit.
"Heh... I was bored" Feixiao smiled.
"Why are you still smiling in a situation like this, Feixiao…!, you made me worried sick!" Jiaoqiu patiently bandaged the leg of the girl, who was definitely stronger than him.
"If I don't smile, you'll just worry more, right?" Feixiao giggled, teasing her caring Red Cross boyfriend.
"You playing sports in this condition already scares the mind out of me, Feixiao." Jiaoqiu finished bandaging her leg.
Jiaoqiu put all the equipment neatly back into a cabinet, but suddenly the infirmary door opened wait no its more like it was busted down.
"Yo, Jiaoqiu!" "Where's Fei, Jiaoqiu?"
Oh, it was just Caelus and Jing Yuan…?
"low your guys voices were in the infirmary." Jiaoqiu glared at the two of them before slamming the cabinet shut."
"So, Jiao..."
"Hm?"
Feixiao looked at the three of them, confused.
"Can we borrow Feixiao for a sec?" Jing Yuan asked politely.
"E-eh, me?" Feixiao pointed at herself.
"We're just borrowing her, Jiaoqiu? We promise we won't do anything weird!" Caelus grabbed Jiaoqiu's shoulder.
"Oh, but after this we were going to-"
"Please!!!" Caelus grumbled cutting of what jiaoqiu was about to say
"Feixiao?" jiaoqiu ask her
"I'm fine, Jiaoqiu. I'll help them first."
"Ah... fine."
A few minutes later, the three of them were about to leave the infirmary.
"My infirmary shift almost over. Wait for me by the stairs next to the co-op when you're done, okay?"
"Roger that, bye Jiao babe! Byeee!" "Later."
"..." Ugh, those damn guys. Jiaoqiu really wanted to spend more time with Feixiao, but he let it go for now.
