Chapter Text
In the wee hours of the morning, you sit alongside a river bank, letting your bare feet feel the cool water against your skin. The daylight hasn't yet awoken, so your close surroundings are still a bit unfamiliar to my weary eyes. You sigh, trying to find some solace in this rather peaceful moment, despite the spiraling thoughts in your head.
Your old life as you know it is gone, forever. You don't even want to think about your life before this moment.
Now, you're out in the great wide open forest, all alone. No one's looking for you either.
…but why does it feel like someone's looking at you?
You squint and try to look around as you feel your heartbeat quicken. Then you notice a set large set of eyes staring right back at you.
You… aren't scared? You're startled, of course, but you don't feel fear.
The set of eyes approaches you. You then see they belong to someone with light green skin and hair that resembles green leaves. You're intrigued.
She looks at you for a moment and then speaks in a monotone, but not rude voice. "You. Why are you here?"
Without any malice, you responded straightforwardly as you continue to look right back at her. "I have nowhere else to be. I belong nowhere now."
She gives a small nod as she inspects you.
"I suspected as such. Do you have a name?"
You stop for a moment to ponder her question. You technically do have a name, but your old life is gone now. You have no reason to use your old name too. So you respond honestly. "I have a name, but I don't consider it my name. It's merely just the name everyone else would call me."
She gives an understanding work she she listens. You noticed she's moved a bit closer to you since she first approached her.
"I won't press the matter. You can call me Huntress Wizard."
You nod in response, making a mental note to try to remember what you know about wizards when you get the chance. She continues.
"Since you have nowhere you belong, I would be willing to assist you."
"Why?" You respond immediately. You have nothing to offer in return. Normally you'd feel skeptical of something wanting to help you in your predicament, but you can tell she's being genuine.
Besides, you seem to like this Huntress Wizard person already. She doesn't seem deceitful.
"You intrigue me. Now follow me." She moves swiftly. You follow along, curious.
