Chapter Text
Today, Saiki’s day had been much more peaceful than he expected. You could even say he was “enjoying” it.
His father left early for work, so he didn’t have to listen to him complain about being late. He didn’t run into anyone on the way to school, and he managed to sneak in without anyone seeing him at the entrance.
His morning was going surprisingly well.
“Saiki, help me!” And he immediately regretted thinking that. It wasn’t a normal day in Saiki’s life unless Toritsuka showed up to ruin his peace.
“Oh? Are you watching that boring guy again?” Satou isn’t boring, he’s normal, and that’s good. For Saiki.
He was watching him from outside his classroom, but he had made himself invisible so no one would bother him. Obviously, he forgot about the idiot Toritsuka.
“Why do you stare at him so much? Have you even talked to him before?” He tried, but Satou’s normality won.
“Saiki, my friend, let me tell you—that’s not how you win anyone’s heart.” Toritsuka said, trying to throw an arm over Saiki’s shoulder before Saiki moved out of the way.
'What are you talking about? I’m not trying to win him over.' Toritsuka really couldn’t go one minute without saying something stupid.
“Come on, Saiki, everyone knows you like Satou,” Toritsuka said with a face full of obviousness. Meanwhile, Saiki had no idea what he was talking about and simply rolled his eyes.
“I can see you’re very conflicted, Saiki.”
'I’m not.'
“Relax, buddy, I’ll help you.”
'No, you won’t.'
He couldn’t stop Toritsuka before he walked right up to Satou.
“Hey, Satou!” Toritsuka exclaimed, wrapping an arm around Satou’s shoulders. What was he doing? Why was he touching him? Saiki had no idea, but he didn’t like it.
“Huh? Oh, hi Toritsuka.” Satou looked at him with a confused expression. 'Him again? What does he want now?'
A very normal thought to have about Toritsuka.
“I just came to ask you a question.”
Satou’s face shifted from confusion to discomfort. The last time Toritsuka had asked him something, it was… a little invasive.
'What do you think you’re doing?'
Saiki almost screamed at him through his mind.
'Relax, Saiki, you’ll thank me later'
Toritsuka thought, with a confidence he definitely shouldn’t have. “Is there anyone you like at school?”
Satou’s ears turned red. What kind of question was that? Saiki was going to stop him, but he couldn’t deny he was a bit curious. “Eh?! Someone I like? I guess… not really…”
Toritsuka smiled in a very untrustworthy way. “And what do you think of my friend Saiki? Is he cute?”
Saiki’s eyes widened. He took less than a second to appear beside Toritsuka, glaring daggers into him.
Toritsuka was terrified, but he couldn’t abandon his plan halfway. “Saiki! You got here just in time. So? What do you think of my friend?” he asked Satou.
Saiki was preparing to strangle Toritsuka, until Satou’s quiet voice distracted him.
“Uh… I guess he’s okay…”
“And would you fuck hi—”
Toritsuka didn’t get to finish his question because Saiki’s glare nearly made his head explode.
'GET OUT'
Saiki shouted telepathically, and Toritsuka ran for his life.
Satou stayed there, still embarrassed but even more confused. Saiki bowed slightly in apology. 'Don’t listen to him, and if he talks to you again, just ignore him'. Then he walked away.
Satou remained standing there, trying to process what had just happened. As he watched Saiki leave, his brain finally restarted. 'What was that? Why did Toritsuka ask me about Saiki? I never really paid that much attention to him but… he doesn’t seem like a bad guy…'
Saiki stopped in the middle of the hallway with a puzzled look, focusing on Satou’s thoughts.
'And that angry face he made was… kinda hot.'
Saiki’s eyes widened again, and he felt a warmth in his chest that he almost mistook for a side effect of his powers.
Maybe he did owe Toritsuka a little thank you…
