Notes:

Hey y'all! If you're here from my ongoing soukoku fic don't worry I'm still writing it and the next chapter's almost done! If not then hello and welcome! If the writing in this chapter is a bit messy that's because I had a test today, and I also have one, Wednesday as well as two on Friday and one next Monday so I'm TIRED. I don't think it's that bad but if it is then that's the reason. I'm a tired teen okay, don't judge me. Anyways, if you found any mistakes, have a complaint or enjoyed it please comment! I love feedback! Hope you all enjoy!

Chapter 1: One

Chapter Text

Dazai had been asleep for six months now. He carded his hands through Dazai's hair while he thought. Six months, the same amount of time since Fyodor had successfully conquered the ability users and had freed all of Yokohama from their sins.

He had forced Dazai into making a deal with him, Fyodor gets rid of all the ability users by using the book and Dazai and the ability users get to live. He had written in the book that Dazai's ability would evolve in a way, and remove all abilities from their holders.

What he hadn't expected was for Dazai to pass out and go into a coma immediately after the use of the book. Of course if he hadn't had to deal with the ability users' sins, his dearest Dazai wouldn't have entered that coma. So he killed as many as he could, especially from the armed detective agency. The only members left were Atsushi, Ranpo and Kyouka. Ranpo could certainly be an issue but it was no matter.

He knows Dazai will be upset with him for going against their deal, so he will merely tell a small lie and say that the book caused it. He truly hopes Dazai wakes up soon, he may look peaceful as his sleeping beauty but he'd much prefer to hear Dazai's lively voice and challenge him to another game of chess.

After he had dealt with those sinners, he had immediately brought Dazai back to his home so he could rest properly. He had even changed his clothes and bandages for him, dressing him in a white sweatsuit, not much different from their Meursault uniform but comfortable for sleeping nonetheless. He could dress Dazai in whatever he wants when he wakes up.

And, perhaps as a reward from God for cleansing Yokohama of most of its sinners, his wish was granted. Dazai's eyes opened. His hands paused in Dazai's hair in shock.

“My, Dazai, dear you're finally awake.”

Dazai's eye squinted in confusion. “Who are you? Where am I?”

His mouth fell ajar, Dazai didn't remember him? That will certainly be a problem. Hopefully he didn't remember anything at all. He would hate to be the only thing Dazai forgot.

“My name is Fyodor, I'm deeply surprised you don't remember me. We're… rather close. You're in my home, you have been for the past six months while you slept. Do you remember anything at all?”

Dazai shook his head, “No, I only remember my name.”

Ah wonderful. He doesn't have to worry about Dazai getting upset with him over those sinner's deaths. Plus now he'll be much easier to tame.

“Do you know how old you are?”

“Uh… I'm not sure. Twenty two, I think.”

“Ah close, you actually turned twenty-three during your slumber.”

“Oh. Do you know-”

“How you ended up in a coma?”

Dazai nodded and Fyodor smiled hesitantly at him.

“It was terrible, ability users attacked us. They are horrible folk, one of them knocked you out before I could protect you.”

“Why were they attacking us?”

“They are truly disgusting, violent people. I had figured out a way to cleanse the world of the evil that was abilities and they didn't like that, so they attacked the one person I hold dear to me.” He paused for a moment, looking directly at Dazai. “You, Dazai.”

Dazai smiled back at him, and as his heart always did whenever he looked at him, it began to do somersaults in his chest.

“Well, I'm okay now! I am hungry though.”

“Ah, of course. I'll be right back, I'll prepare some food for you.”

Fyodor headed towards the door.

“Thank you Fedya!”

He paused, one hand on the door frame. He was not expecting Dazai to call him by a nickname so soon. Especially not with his memory loss.

“Fedya?”

“Just felt right. Like I used to say it a lot or something.”

He smiled once more. Dazai was much better awake.

“All right then, Osamu.”

And with that he left, going straight for the kitchen to prepare a meal for his dearest Daz- Osamu. It was only right for him to call him that. Dazai belongs to him. Though he’d keep it to a minimum for now, that would make it more special.

He began to make a simple dish, just crab and rice and not too large of a portion. He knows that Dazai can't eat much.

In a way he was almost glad for the memory loss. He could reconstruct Dazai into his perfect vision. Of course Dazai was probably the closest person who had ever come close to Fyodor's perception of perfection but there were still some minor changes to be made. Like how he dressed and his attachment to all those sinners. Especially the red head. How he wished he could have been able to kill him. But now, none of that would be a problem.

Once he safely secured Dazai into his new bed he had gone out and bought a plethora of clothes for him to wear. Many of the clothes matched Fyodor's own, but the cherry on top was the head piece he had bought. Dazai's old Bolo tie had been a reminder of Oda Sakunosuke, now the beautiful quartz circlet with a striking violet gem would always be there to remind Osamu that they belong together. That Dazai is his.

Once Dazai was feeling better he would get him dressed. He could find a way to make sure Dazai didn't protest, and if he did he could just find a way around that. He had always loved working against Dazai's mind.

It would also be ever so fun to show those remaining sinners, all of which having at least some connection to Dazai, that Dazai was now with him. Willingly. Well, sort of willingly.

The crab was cooked now, and so he served it onto a small plate, then put said plate onto a tray with a half-full glass of sake. He knows Dazai's preferences well.

He made his way back to Dazai and gently placed the tray onto his lap.

“Eat, I made your favourite. Besides, you need it after six months of having nutrients injected into your blood stream.”

Dazai gave him a small smile, it wasn't much but it meant everything to Fyodor. Dazai was content with being with him, at least for now.

“Thanks, Fedya.”

He watched as Dazai ate. He ate strangely, eating all the crab and then all the rice. It's awfully cute, and awfully Dazai that such a habit stayed even after the memory loss.

After he had finished his meal, Dazai stretched and gave out a soft yawn.

“I know I've slept for six months, but I am exhausted.”

Fyodor chuckled at that. “That's normal, most people are worn out after waking from a coma. Rest well, I’d like to show you around tomorrow if that's okay with you.”

“Yeah, I’d like that. ‘Night Fedya!”

“Good night, Dazai dear.”

He exited the room and waited for the monitors he had installed during Dazai's coma to tell him when he was asleep. He needed to make sure that in case for some reason he wasn't able to be present, he would know as soon as Dazai woke up so he could rush over.

After about five minutes, he got the alert and entered the room once more. He just wanted to watch over him for a while, he had just woken up from a coma after all.

He sat and listened to him breathing for a while. It was a soothing sound. Then, he decided it was a good time to choose Dazai's outfit for tomorrow. He ended up picking a white blouse with a slightly frilly neck and ruffled bell sleeves and some matching white pants. The blouse also had a violet gem sewn into the collar. Of course, he also added the circlet. He had one of his own that matched Dazai's. His had a brown gem.

He went back to his own quarters after observing Dazai for a while longer, he would also need rest. He knew there was no way those remaining sinners wouldn't attempt to bring Dazai back into their grasp. He knows that in his current state, Dazai most likely wouldn't go with them but he still needed to make sure Dazai was dependent on him. Just so he never tried to leave.

He will make sure that Dazai is never allowed to see the outside world but he is no fool. He knows that Ranpo will send out spies soon enough. He will give those spies a tremendous show. Show them all that he and Dazai complete each other.

It will be nice to have Dazai so close to him. To be all Dazai knows. All Dazai wants to know.

____________________________________

The next morning when he woke up, he dressed before heading to the kitchen so he could prepare breakfast for him and Dazai. He would bring Dazai out of his room today and show him around the mansion’s grounds.

He decided on making a simple meal. Once he fixes Dazai’s eating problem he can prepare more extravagant meals, but for today, pancakes. He again put the food on the tray, this time with a variety of toppings, chopped fruit, syrup, whipped cream and butter as well as a cup of coffee, made perfectly to Dazai’s tastes.

He walked down the halls thinking about what he most wanted to show Dazai. Perhaps the music room, he knows Dazai is proficient at the piano but he wonders if that talent has remained even after his memory has been lost.

He sincerely hopes his dearest Dazai’s memories will not return. He’ll be much better like this, not tainted by thoughts of those nefarious sinners who wish to corrupt him.

He enters the room and places the tray on the bedside table. It’s much nicer knowing Dazai will wake up, makes it so much easier to enjoy the soft sounds of his breath. At one point in time, he truly had believed that he wanted Dazai dead. As soon as Dazai had collapsed and there was the possibility he wouldn’t wake up, he immediately knew he was wrong.

Somehow, he would find a way to keep Dazai with him for as long as he lives.

Even in the unlikely event that Dazai ends up with his memories back, Dazai will not be leaving.

He’ll make sure of it.
