Work Text:

The outside air was uncomfortably cold in the winter, so Takanori was happy when he finally made it to the oddly uncrowded restaurant. He was here for a first date. There was just one problem... How do you go on a date without a date? Taka couldn't see his prince anywhere.

He looked around at the few tables that actually had someone sitting around them. One couple near the right wall, a lone girl eating what looked a lot like some chicken dish, three men chatting loudly at one table... None of them were who Taka was looking for.

He jumped and nearly screamed when someone tapped his shoulder.

"Takanori?"

Taka turned around and quickly nodded. Then he tilted his head... What the hell?

This Yutaka guy looked nothing like his pictures in the dating app! No, he was hotter, almost unrecognizably so... For a while, Taka couldn't do anything else than stare at the brown-haired beauty in front of him. His eyes traveled down from Yutaka's face to that body... God damn! This was going to be a long day for a certain blond of the Matsumoto family.

"Nice to meet you," Yutaka said with a friendly smile. That look in his eyes was something Takanori had never seen before. The taller extended his hand for his date to take, then led him to a table in the back.

Takanori felt like a princess when he sat down on a chair Yutaka pulled out for him. Hot and a gentleman? What a jackpot! But Taka knew first impressions can deceive, so he promised himself he'd try to keep it in his pants for now.

Yutaka sat down across from him and smiled, almost too sweetly. "You look really cute today."

He? Cute? Takanori doubted that. He glanced down at himself and those casual clothes he wore on a daily basis... His hair was a mess too, he hadn't styled it in any way. The only thing he had done was put on some light makeup, but even that wasn't making anything look more put together. "Thanks... handsome."

Takanori had meant to only try and compliment the other man without sounding as thirsty as he did, but everything can't always go according to plan. His tone was kind of unnatural and overall weird. Yutaka didn't seem to mind, though.

A waiter came to take the guys' orders. When he'd left, they sat in silence for a moment... Takanori was desperately trying to think of something to say. They hadn't had the chance to talk a lot yet, but suddenly neither of the two said anything. It was really awkward for Takanori. But then he looked up and it turned out he'd been panicking alone; the reason Yutaka was quiet was because he was on his phone. What the hell? Where did the manners go?

It seemed like Yutaka had noticed the other's frown. He put his phone down and smiled at Takanori for the tenth time. "Sorry. Work stuff."

"Really? What do you do?"

"I work in finance. It's kind of busy, lots of sudden calls..."

Taka pursed his lips as he thought about this new information. Finance? That man had to be loaded! It was all the more reason to make this work.

Dinner had gone exceptionally well. Around the halfway mark, Takanori had caught sight of Yutaka's chest as he'd leaned down to eat his food, and the blond had been drooling at it ever since. He still wasn't over the fact that he was on a date with the hottest, nicest and most likely the richest man he'd ever talked to.

Now they'd already ate, and the gentleman he was, Yutaka paid for all of it. Taka could sense it was nearing the time for both of them to go home. He really didn't want to leave it at this.

Yutaka was already putting his wallet back into his pocket and had begun to put a jacket on, but Takanori wasn't done. He lifted his leg under the table and placed a foot against the brunet's leg, slowly moving it up and down...

For a moment, it was silent. Yutaka stopped everything he was doing. Then he slowly looked at Takanori and finished pulling on the jacket. "I'll walk you home."

Takanori was delighted. He let Yutaka help him with his coat before they left the restaurant, the taller's arm around his waist the whole time. Now Taka didn't have to let his date leave just yet, and he had a feeling it couldn't have gone any better.

It had started to snow, but during the pair's walk to Takanori's place, there was more in the air than just snowflakes; some might even call it sexual tension.

Taka knew he got caught staring more than once. It also didn't help that Yutaka tightened his grip on the smaller's waist each and every time... Takanori was going kind of crazy.

He was deep in his thoughts of Yutaka, when the man in question suddenly came to a halt. Takanori looked at him, curious.

"Taka-chan, look."

The nickname threw the blond off a bit... He quickly got over it, though. "At what?" He squeezed the taller's arm just a little.

"They're selling flowers there. Do you want some?"

Takanori glanced at the warmly lit window to their right. It did look inviting. He did like flowers...

About twenty minutes later, they left the shop. Taka was soon freezing again; by now he had no feeling left in his fingers, and he was pretty sure he'd drop his beautiful, new, pink lilies sponsored by Mr. Handsome.

Yutaka seemed to catch on. "Are you cold?" The brunet didn't really wait for an answer. He stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and cupped Takanori's cheeks. "Oh no! You're like a corpse."

"...That's what happens in this kind of wea-"

"Here! Take this." The guy pulled his scarf down and wrapped it into a hood around Takanori's head. The smaller felt like a mummy in that, but his date seemed to find it cute. At least that huge smile said so.

"Let me carry those." Yutaka took the lily bouquet from Taka. He kept it in one hand, and with the other he held both of the other man's ice cold hands. Takanori suddenly, for some reason, felt really hot.

The door of Taka's apartment shut behind him as he entered with Yutaka. Instantly, he could hear those small but vigorous steps of his beloved dog running from the kitchen. Yutaka put Takanori's flowers down on a cabinet in the hall and watched as the blond squatted down. Little Koron greeted his owner with jumps and licks all over his face.

"Koron-chan! Papa's home. Did you miss me?"

Takanori heard Yutaka laugh beside him. The man was looking down at him and his dog with a fond expression. Did he ever stop smiling?

"So cute."

Takanori had at first thought the comment was about Koron, but Yutaka was staring at him and not the dog. Taka petted him while turning to look at his date, suspicious. "Who?"

"Both of you."

"...Right." Taka stood up. Now that Koron was getting no more head scratches, he started circling Yutaka's feet like crazy. The taller man found it very cute.

"Aww... Can I pick him up?"

"Uh, sure, he won't do anything. But I don't think he likes it that much, though..."

Yutaka lifted the dog into his arms. This was the point where Koron would try to jump down if Takanori did the same, but for some reason that traitor of a dog didn't resist at all.

"He seems to like it?" Yutaka said, now petting him on the belly. Takanori was going crazy. Koron never let anyone do that to him!

"Such a good boy! You've been raised well, hm? Your owner is a really smart guy, after all..." Yutaka giggled and glanced at Takanori. He was pouting.

"What's wrong?"

"He isn't supposed to like that. He never does!" Taka crossed his arms and scrunched his nose in slight annoyance. "He must like you a lot. Next you're gonna tell me you're good with kids too, aren't you?"

The brunet laughed more. He gently set Koron back down, then turned to Takanori. His hands went to that scarf to unwrap it and free Taka's hair...

Yutaka slid his fingers into that frizzy mess on the other man's head. He looked so adorable like this that it was hard for the brunet to think about anything else... He leaned in closer.

Takanori thought he was getting kissed, so he did it first; his lips met Yutaka's and he didn't wait on adding some tongue, either. The taller was clearly surprised, but not resisting. He responded to the kiss with equal passion and his hands stayed in Takanori's hair.

When they pulled apart after a while, Yutaka let out a breathy laugh. "Just wondering... Since your dog likes me so much, does it mean I've been accepted?"

Taka huffed. "Not when he likes you more than he likes me."

"Mm. Petty, much?" Yutaka smiled in amusement while giving Takanori's scalp a few gentle scratches. "It's getting late. Are you going to sleep? Should I leave?"

Taka cleared his throat. The feeling of Yutaka's hands in his hair was mildly distracting while he was trying to talk. "Wait. Not yet."

"Are you sure? Will you get enough sleep if I bother you any longer?"

"Yeah, yeah just... Come in." He took Yutaka's hand and began dragging him further into the apartment. The taller was a bit caught off guard and almost fell over. "Wait, my shoes are still on!"

"I don't care. Come on! You haven't seen my bedroom yet..."

Notes:

About this one... I think the idea was good. But the result? 😭 not so much.

There will be one more part after this one and it'll be a bit different, I think :) And then I'll be done with this. Just saying.
