Day 4: Eggnog Ch. 5 of The Simmering Pines Series

Summary:

Pansy cooks and Neville learns not to ever let her cook again

Notes:

This is Day Four of the Panville 12 days of Christmas fest. There are only two more days in the all inter connected series named 'Simmering Pines' but written in disorder. I think it is rather fun to read them in that order but if you want to read them in chronological order you can go by the chapter number.

Work Text:

Pansy according to Malfoy had never been a good cook. Neville didn't understand why or how considering how good she was with potions. Apparently following instructions in the lab was very different than following a recipe in a kitchen. Then again who was he to argue when he was incapable of producing the simplest of potions but could cook a mean meal.

It therefore should have been a red flag when she had kicked him out of the kitchen. Having had her in his bed all last night had made him very willing to let her do as she pleased where ever she pleased.

She and Malfoy had come back from the Snake Christmas brunch briefly before he had been back from Christmas morning luncheon with his Gran and parents. Malfoy had made tea and Pansy had stood up to go and change saying that now that she was home she could finally get comfortable. Malfoy had then said something to the effect of how could pyjamas ever be not comfortable but all Neville heard was her being home. Was it too early for him to beg her to move in? She could keep her room. They never actually had guests.

That train of thought had been cut short by her reentering the room in what looked like nothing but HIS sweater and a very self satisfied smirk in her face. "Okay boys I am going into the kitchen to cook up some eggnog to properly celebrate the season."

"Let me help." Neville said at the same time that Malfoy shouted "Absolutely NOT"

"Oh Draco don't be a spoil sport I promise I have gotten better." Then she turned to Neville with that pout she'd had the night before. "Neville you will try it, right?"

"I…" He swallowed hard. "Yeah Pansy, of course."

Her smirk widdened and she skipped to the kitchen.

"Oh…" He heard Malfoy say slowly as if something had just dawned on him. "So thats why she is wearing your sweater and was so happy this morning. Be careful Longbottom, she is trouble."

"I know."

He didn't know. Trouble she was, he had just underestimated how much and the type of trouble.

Neville being good had drank the eggnog offered. Who wouldn't have, she was only wearing his sweater. It had taken less than an hour and just how bad she was in the kitchen showed up in his bathroom.
