Chapter 1: War On The Horizon
The Galactic Republic has improved greatly. Having caught onto Palpatine's true-colors thanks to CT-5555, AKA Fives before his passing, the Kaminoians have deleted Clone Protocol 66 from the Clone Troopers' behavioral-inhibitor chips. During their lightsaber-duel on the planet of Mustafaar, Anakin Skywalker revealed his fears to Obi-Wan, and broke down in tears. Obi-Wan, Padme, and Anakin went to stop Palpatine, and Anakin executed Order 65 to have Palpatine either arrested or executed. However, Palpatine had escaped to the Outer Rim planet, Korriban, a planet known as the birthplace of the ancient Sith Order. Anakin, having brought true balance to the Force by stopping the Sith, was made the new grandmaster of the Jedi Order, whereas Padme was named the new Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic. Anakin is training his and Padme's son, Luke, in the ways of the Jedi, whereas Padme is tutoring Leia in politics, while having Anakin's former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, who has become a Jedi Knight, mentor her in the ways of the Jedi.
The former grandmaster of the Jedi Order, Yoda, has retired to a quiet life on Dagobah, and Mace Windu has retired to a quiet life on the planet of Dantooine. A new Jedi Council has been built with new Jedi Masters of various species.
However, Palpatine, otherwise known as Darth Sidious, has risen to power with a stronger, overt Sith Empire, which has Stormtroopers either enlisted or drafted into the Imperial militia, Sith Acolytes, Force-users mentored in the Dark Side, Imperial Inquisitors, assassins that are either Force-users or fallen Jedi, and a new Sith Apprentice.
Location: The Jedi Temple, Coruscant
Anakin Skywalker sat among a gathering of Jedi Masters, a man in his 30s or 40s with long brown hair, deep-blue eyes, and a light stubble tracing his jaw. He wore the traditional Jedi armor of the Old Republic, a symbol of both his rank and battlefield experience. Around him sat new Masters, each representing the galaxy's diversity.
To his left, a Kaleesh Sentinel named Tor Bykan adjusted the bone mask that covered his red-skinned face, golden eyes gleaming behind it. Beside him, Kento Vizsla, a Human clad in blue-and-gray Mandalorian armor, kept a watchful eye over the room. A few seats down, Ividdarr, a towering Wookiee Sentinel with dark-auburn fur braided at the sides and back of his head, chuckled softly, his marigold-and-burgundy robes contrasting with his green eyes.
A Mirialan female, Siolla Lofit, her black angular tattoos and deep-green skin marking her heritage, sat composed in her Jedi robes. Next to her, Jidrak Trona, a Zygerrian Gray Jedi with blue-gray skin, indigo hair, and apple-green eyes, adjusted his beige, white, and gold attire. Aggek Klannel, a Trandoshan Gray Jedi, exuded a calm intensity in his emerald-green skin and crimson eyes, while Lutt Lorac, the Shistavanen, silently surveyed the room with amber eyes, his gray-furred face taut with focus.
The room's diversity was staggering: Fech Khavin, a bald Zabrak with amethyst eyes and pale tattoos, Eoli Stolic, the blindfolded Miraluka, Bolen Sur from Lothal with copper-toned skin and indigo stubble, and Ron Monren, a green Nautolan Consular, each bringing a unique presence. Gad Kreg, the Lasat Guardian, with light-purple skin and dark stripes, spoke quietly with Fa Biptet, the six-eyed Talz Guardian.
Cheg Serke, the auburn-skinned Ithorian, Brav Jish, a Nikto Guardian clad in Clone Wars-era armor, and Mako Lassush, a blue-skinned Togruta Consular with four lekku, completed the front row. Crude Ginso, the yellow-skinned Dathomirian, Trax Bevrod, a jade-skinned Falleen, and Zebkar Wudark, the auburn-skinned Dowutin, formed the next tier.
Further back, Dash Renks, an Otolla Gungan, Kra Pam, the anthropomorphic rat-like Jawa, Zether Naszex, the Kiffar Guardian, and Noha Alasun, the Cathar Sentinel, filled their seats. Teros Yial, the Tholothian, Ka'me Fimin, a magenta-skinned Twi'lek, Sho Daikiln, the Kel Dor Sentinel, and Kriga Stelem, a brown-skinned Weequay, all observed silently. Hinu Noshu, the silvery-haired Arkanian, and Oslath Zeden, the horned Iktotchi, completed the circle of Masters.
Anakin stood, voice cutting through the murmurs. "Is everyone here?"
"Yes, Grandmaster," Master Pam replied, his fluency in Galactic Basic flawless, a testament to his years of study.
"Glad everyone could make it," Anakin continued. "We're here to address the elephant in the room." He looked toward Ividdarr. "Master Ividdarr, happy 266th birthday."
"Congrats, fuzz-butt," Aggek Klannel smirked.
"(C'mere, lizard-lips!)" Ividdarr bellowed in his native Shyriiwook, playfully headlocking Klannel and giving him a noogie.
Anakin chuckled. "Alright, you two knuckleheads. Take it easy."
The Masters' Padawans hovered nearby, each bonded to their mentor: Kento's son Jerrek, Tor Bykan's autistic Nautolan Zanden Herkain, Jidrak Trona's Zabrak Zhanu Karrar, Ividdarr's nephew Stalgha, Bolen Sur's Zygerrian Slok Krorla, Gad Kreg's Kiffar Jacen Vayne, Ron Monren's Mon Calamari Shah Pobrar, and Siolla Lofit's Human Rey Moonwatcher. Kriga Stelem's Padawan, Ben Solo, quietly observed, his lineage tied to the smuggler Han Solo.
Anakin's eyes swept across the room. The galaxy's finest, gathered in one chamber—ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Meanwhile, we see the members of the Separatists, which consisted of Nute Gunray, who was the leader of the Trade Federation, Poggle The Lesser, who was the leader of the Stalgasin Hive, San Hill, the chairman of the Intergalactic Banking Clan, Wat Tambor, the foreman of the Techno Union, Shu Mai, the president of the Commerce Guild, and Passell Argente, the leader of the Corporate Alliance. They were speaking with Palpatine via holo-communications.
"It's been a long while, Palpatine," Nute chuckled, smug as ever. "For a moment, I thought you'd finally keeled over after Skywalker tried to have you arrested. Or executed."
Palpatine's expression soured beneath his hood. A split second later, Nute wheezed as an invisible hand clamped around his throat.
"MIND YOUR TONGUE!" Palpatine snarled, eyes burning. "OR I WILL RIP IT FROM YOUR WORTHLESS MOUTH!"
"Dank farrik—he's a sadist," San Hill blurted, horrified.
Palpatine released Nute, who collapsed forward, gasping.
"If you ever mention that incident again," Palpatine hissed, "I will feed you to Jabba's rancor myself—and broadcast your screams to every wretch who doubts me. Do I make myself clear?"
"C‑crystal," Nute stammered.
A faint trickling noise echoed through the chamber. Several council members exchanged looks.
"Uhhh… was that a red flag?" San whispered.
"Crimson," Passell muttered back.
"Droids aren't cutting it anymore," Shu Mai added, frustrated. "No matter how many we build, the Jedi and their clone troopers cut through them."
"My Stormtroopers will handle any Jedi that cross us," Palpatine said smoothly. "And I have… other resources. Someone who thinks like a Sith."
A robed figure stepped into view, wearing a Clone Wars–era variant of Darth Jadus's armor, modified with a distinct mask and a black cloak lined in crimson.
"My new apprentice and personal assassin," Palpatine announced. "Darth Nox."
"The Republic will crumble before the might of the Sith Empire," Nox intoned, his voice eerily reminiscent of Ainz Ooal Gown blended with Thoth.
"So, there's more than one Mandalorian Jedi?" Padmé asked, facing Anakin.
"Yes," Anakin confirmed. "Master Vizsla's son, Jerrek, is his Padawan. Another Mandalorian Force-user is Shane Vancel, a Mandalorian Gray Jedi."
Obi-Wan interjected, frowning. "We've seen how the original Darksaber corrupted Pre Vizsla. Much like Master Vizsla, both Jerrek and Shane have forged their own Darksabers."
Ahsoka added, "Jerrek's Darksaber has a crossguard mode. Shane's is a split-saber—a full-sized Darksaber with a retractable crossguard and a shoto. Its base configuration is double-bladed. Jerrek leads the Nitewatch, alongside Kyla Sylanna, a Thisspiasian thief; Hekks Gando, a Trandoshan big-game hunter; Luna Sodvarr, a Shistavanen smuggler; Zanden Herkain, Master Bykan's Padawan; and HK-27, an HK-series assassin droid."
Obi-Wan continued, "Shane leads the Outsiders, which includes Deni Anzah, a Mirialan smuggler; Gonghan, a Wookiee Partisan; Zud Olodd of the Lasan Honor Guard; CT-4709, also called Action, a genetically enhanced Clone Commando; Zhanu, Master Trona's Zabrak Padawan; and BT-4, a BT-1 series assassin droid."
"I've seen BT-1 Series Assassin Droids," Anakin muttered, frowning. "I swear the scientists of Palpatine's Sith Empire experimented with every illicit substance in the galaxy when they designed these things."
Obi-Wan smiled grimly. "Speaking of… here they are."
The two groups arrived with precision. Jerrek, the Nitewatch leader, strode forward first. A Human male with brown hair, a five-o'clock shadow, and scars on his right cheek, he wore cobalt-blue Mandalorian armor forged from Beskar Iron and Cortosis.
Kyla's serpentine lower body slithered into place. Green-scaled with four muscular arms, blue eyes with yellow sclerae, blonde hair, and an anaconda pattern across her skin, she wore a fitted blue jacket over black. Hekks, the Trandoshan hunter, followed, his green-scaled hands resting on the scatter-gun at his hip. Luna, a gray-furred Shistavanen, flexed her muscular arms, her magenta hair streaking her gray fur. Zanden, a Nautolan Jedi Padawan, adjusted his cyan double-bladed split-saber. HK-27, painted cobalt-blue and gray, rolled silently beside them. The Outsiders arrived next. Shane Vancel's green-and-dark-green Mandalorian armor gleamed under the light. Deni Anzah, the Mirialan smuggler, strode beside him, black tattoos contrasting her vibrant green skin. Zud Olodd, the towering Lasat, walked with quiet authority. Action, the 6'8" Clone Commando, radiated menace in white armor trimmed with gray. Gonghan, a massive black-furred Wookiee, carried a bandolier of weapons across his chest. Zhanu, the Zabrak Padawan, moved with the precision of a seasoned Jedi, while BT-4, in green-and-dark-green armor, scanned the area mechanically.
Jerrek's voice cut through the tension. "We're here, Grandmaster Skywalker."
"Glad you all could make it," Anakin said, scanning both teams. "We'll need every resource we can muster to protect the galaxy from Palpatine's Sith Empire."
Each warrior carried a deadly arsenal. Jerrek had dual DE-12 blaster-pistols, a pulse sniper rifle, flame projectors, a whipcord launcher, a Whistling Bird launcher, anti-lightsaber shields, a Z-6 jetpack, thermal detonators, a vibroknife, and his crossguard Darksaber. Kyla's A-180 modular blaster could function as pistol, rifle, or sniper. Hekks relied on scatter-guns and projectile rifles, rejecting laser weapons as unsportsmanlike. Luna wielded an RSKF-44 heavy blaster-pistol. Zanden's cyan double-bladed split-saber complemented his blaster and composite bow.
Shane's collection was staggering: dual WESTAR-35s, a GALAAR-15 carbine, a Galar-90 sniper rifle, flame and rocket launchers, gauntlet blades, whipcord launchers, a vibroknife, a Gaderffi stick, and his split-Darksaber. Deni carried an A-280 CFE convertible heavy blaster and vibroknife. Zud bore multiple heavy rifles, while Action's DC-17m modular system and dual hand blasters made him nearly unstoppable. Gonghan wielded a bowcaster, dual pistols, rifles, and Ryyk blades, reinforced with durasteel knuckles. Zhanu's yellow-bladed lightsaber complemented his DE-10 pistol, and BT-4's arsenal included blasters, missile launchers, flamethrowers, and buzzsaws.
Anakin's eyes swept across the teams. Every fighter was prepared, armed, and ready. The galaxy's defenders had arrived.
The shadowed chamber was vast, lit by the cold gleam of Sith lights and the silent hum of dark machinery. At the head of the room stood Emperor Palpatine, the architect of the Sith Empire, his cloak flowing as he raised his voice:
"Remember: Peace is a lie. There is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength; through strength, power; through power, victory; and through victory, my chains are broken. Only the Force can set us free."
Before him knelt the members of the newly formed Dark Council.
Darth Zuldal, a male Kaleesh Sith Lord, flexed his fingers in anticipation. Beside him, Darth Zuhin, a female Zygerrian, let her golden eyes gleam beneath a dark hood. A male human Sith Lord, Darth Strehl, clenched his fists, while Darth Drosnon, the Kiffar Sith Lord, tilted his head in calculated thought.
Darth Voba, a female Dathomirian, exhaled through her nostrils, her yellow skin almost glowing in the red light. Darth Kheth, a Pau'an male, smirked, a cruel promise in his gaze. Darth Xonae, a female human, observed silently, while Darth Rortin, a male Muun, fingered an artifact in his robes.
Darth Ocnaft, the blind Miraluka Sith Lord, felt the presence of the Force around him. And Darth Hukmo, a female Zygerrian, crouched slightly, poised to strike.
"Once the Dark Council claims the Sith Artifacts," Kheth declared, a shadow of triumph crossing his face, "we will rule the galaxy!"
From the outer platform, the new Imperial Inquisitors filed in, each stepping forward in formation.
The 13th Brother, Zisa Stam, a crimson-skinned Nautolan with black markings and dozens of tendrils, moved with a predator's grace. His black bio-helmet gleamed with a red visor, the Galactic Roundel of the Empire etched upon it.
Next was Val Shaessh, the 14th Brother, a fully organic Kaleesh Sith, his durasteel mask reflecting the crimson light. Hosh Kizrut, the 15th Sister, the sole female Inquisitor, followed—a pale Dathomirian with icy blue eyes and white hair, clad in sleek black armor reminiscent of Trilla Suduri.
Zhe Asdigg, the 16th Brother, a Trandoshan with jade-green skin and golden-orange eyes, stalked into position, his gaze cold and calculating. The 17th Brother, Karr Andat, a bald Rattataki with dark cyan eyes, stood with deadly poise, his hybrid armor blending the influences of the Grand Inquisitor and Cal.
The 18th Brother, Zec Tridat, a gray-skinned Zygerrian with black fur markings and golden-orange eyes, adjusted the folds of his black robes. Finally, Ala Idran, the 19th Sister, a silver-haired Arkanian with piercing white eyes, completed the assembly, her presence radiating icy authority.
Together, the Dark Council and their Imperial Inquisitors formed a tableau of menace and power. Palpatine's empire, unchallenged and unstoppable, had found its new enforcers—and the galaxy would tremble before them.
Meanwhile, far below the shimmering skylanes of Coruscant, a lone figure crouched atop a durasteel gantry overlooking the Senate District. The man's crimson-red Mandalorian armor—etched with black trim and scored with battle marks—reflected the glow of passing speeders. Through the scope of an IQA‑11 sniper rifle, he watched Anakin, Padmé, and their companions move across an open plaza.
Talos Fessth.
Mandalorian Foundling of Corellia.
Child of the Watch.
Commander of the Headhunters.
His breath was steady inside the helmet, his visor unreadable. To the untrained eye, he was just another shadow among the many rooftops. But to anyone who knew him—and everyone who feared him—Talos Fessth was a specter of death.
Behind him lay the legacy he commanded: the Headhunters, a ruthless cadre of killers bound not by creed, but by profit and glory. Eshto the Gen'Dai, a towering mass of regenerating muscle and scars. Rash Preeta, a silent Gand marksman. Tagsic Scaza, a Zygerrian slaver-turned-gunslinger. Lur Drahool, a Shistavanen tracker whose senses rivaled a Nexu's. Juthoc Tuthoo, a Gungan warrior with a surprising talent for explosives. Clet Kon, a Trandoshan big‑game hunter whose trophies still dripped with the memories of his prey. And IG‑62, an IG‑series assassin droid whose programming was as cold as the steel he was forged from.
These were the killers who followed him.
And this was the prey he longed for.
Talos adjusted the rifle a hair's breadth, centering the crosshairs on Anakin for a fleeting moment—before shifting them away. This mission was not about Skywalker. Not today. His thoughts burned with a far more personal vendetta.
'One day, that Darksaber will be mine.' Talos hissed in his mind. 'Even if I have to exterminate the entire goddamn Vizsla bloodline to get it.'
His gauntleted finger tapped the rifle casing in simmering anticipation. Jerrek. The one warrior Talos hated above all others. The one whose death would define his legacy. Talos would kill him—slowly, cleanly, without hesitation—and claim the Darksaber as his rightful prize.
Holstering his rifle, Talos turned away from the edge. His cape snapped in the Coruscant wind as he strode across the rooftop to the waiting silhouette of his ship.
The Hellfire Phantom loomed like a predator in the shadows, its boarding ramp lowering with a hiss of steam.
Talos stepped inside without looking back.
Soon, the galaxy would know the name Talos Fessth.
And Jerrek Vizsla's final breath would signal the beginning of that legend.
