“Hey, sorry, can I ask you something?” Nicholas smiles shyly.
Taki, who was just sitting on the soft couch in the middle of the mall, frowns. Is this something about promoting some kind of store or..?
“Well, okay?” He raises his brow, glancing to the side to see if it's something for TikTok. He can't find anyone else near them.
“Do you mind pretending to be my boyfriend for a few minutes?” Nicholas scratches the back of his head, letting out a nervous giggle. “I know it sounds weird, I'm just- There's a thing, I want to buy a new perfume, and they have a 20 percent discount for couples, since it's Valentine's Day soon,” he purses his lips. “But I don't have a boyfriend, and also I'm kind of a broke student, so-”
“Oh, yeah, same,” Taki smiles softly, looking at him and tilting his head to the side. “That sucks, though. Why do they do that only for couples? Gosh, it's a discrimination for single people,” he mumbles, making Nicholas chuckle.
He points to the side, offering to take a seat, so Nicholas sits down, sighing.
“Yeah, that's true,” he pouts. “So I'm Nicholas, you can call me just Nico.”
“Riki, but everyone calls me Taki, so,” he shrugs, smiling, and Nicholas can't take his eyes off.
He's so attractive.
“Okay, so we should make a scene, right?” He asks and Taki nods in agreement. “We're dating for-”
“Few months!”
Nicholas bites on his lip, when Taki approaches to take his hand in his.
“Oh, yeah, right, we should probably hold our hands,” mumbles, interlocking their fingers. It feels so strange.
Taki lets out a loud sigh.
“Woah,” he swallows, “that's actually the fastest relationship I have ever had.”
“Same,” Nicholas feels the way he blushes so quickly. “So should we go there? To the store?”
Taki nods a few times. They get up, still holding hands.
“What kind of scents do you prefer? I think I should know,” Taki giggles, glancing shyly at Nicholas.
It's so weird, actually, but they would lie if they say they're not enjoying it. Like, sometimes you have to do some crazy shit just because why not.
Nicholas licks his lips quickly, “Oh, I love everything with citrus, but not sour ones, I’ve already bought a few perfumes before, so I guess I'll choose one of them again.”
Taki hums, “I love citrus scents, too.”
“It's fate! We should probably go out some time.”
Nicholas says half-joking, not sure why he's doing it. But Taki agrees, squeezing his hand slightly. “Yeah, it would be nice.”
Nicholas doesn't know why, but his heart starts beating faster when Taki says this.
Their plan works perfectly, Nicholas buys himself a good perfume, they're giggling leaving the store.
Taki gives him his phone number, saying he has some things to do, and Nicholas promises he will text him.
And he does.
