Chapter 1: Chapter 1/Day 1

Chapter Text

Izuku rushed through the hallways, trying to make it to class before the bell rang. Usually, he was pretty good at that, but of course, he’d forgotten the homework that needed to be turned in today back in his dorm, so he had to run to get it, which made him late. He was distracted enough by this that he ended up bumping into another student in the hall.
“Eep!” The girl let out a small squeak. She shook herself off, and her eyes widened as she looked at who she bumped into.
Not good.
“Oh crap, I did it again…” She muttered under her breath.
The boy looked around the halls, his brow furrowing in confusion. “Where am I?”
“You’re in UA,” the girl answered.
“Wow, really? How’d I get here?” The boy’s eyes lit up with excitement. “And why am I wearing a uniform, it doesn’t even fit…”
“It did about a minute ago…”
The boy slightly tilted his head, looking even more confused. “I don’t understand.”
“Here, how about I help you find an adult? They’d be much better at handling this.”
“Okay!” The green-haired boy happily followed through the halls.
“So, kid, what’s your name?”
“Izuku Midoriya! What’s yours?”
“Mio Yukiko,” The girl answered. Okay, Izuku Midoriya… He was a class 1A hero course student, if she remembered correctly. Which meant she had to explain this to Eraserhead…
She found her way to the classroom, with a young boy holding her hand because he kept tripping on his long pants (that he held up with his other hand). She peeked her head through the door.
Everyone in the room looked at her. Well, except for a certain angry blonde who couldn’t care less about this pink-haired extra.
“Um, hello?” Mio shyly waved.
Eraserhead sighed. “Do you need something?”
“Well, um… You see… I, um…” Wow, the man was intimidating up close. Although Mio thought everyone was intimidating, so maybe that wasn’t saying much.
“Oh, just spit it out!” Bakugo finally snapped, annoyed at the stammering.
“I accidentally turned one of your students into a five-year-old!” Yukiko flinched.
Aizawa sighed. “You did what?”
“Well, you see, my quirk allows me to reduce someone’s body to a past age. I’m not always in full control of it though, especially when I get surprised, so when I bumped into him I lost control and well… This happened.” She stepped into the room, the now five-year-old Izuku walking in with her.
“What the crap?!” Bakugo was the first to react.
“Awww, he’s so cute!!!” Mina squealed.
“Are you able to undo this?” Aizawa asked.
“Well, um, no… The effects wear off, though!”
“In how long, you extra?!” Bakugo demanded.
“First off, the name’s Mio Yukiko. Second off… A week.”
“Deku’s going to be a f***in child for a week?!”
Mio had quickly gathered that Eraserhead sighed a lot, as he did it again. She nervously stared at the floor.
“Okay, you can leave Midoriya here. We’ll figure something out,” Eraserhead told her. Mio quickly left the room, letting go of the little boy’s hand.
Izuku was nervous to say the least. This was a room full of strangers, though there was a strange sense of familiarity as well. He felt like he could trust these people.
“Alright, we’re having a lesson on responsibility. For the next week, you all will be responsible for Midoriya until he reverts to his normal age,” Aizawa turned to his class.
“Um… Can someone tell me what’s going on?” Izuku timidly asks.
Aizawa sighs once again and walks over to Midoriya before crouching down to his level. “You were hit by a quirk that’s turned you back into your five-year-old self. You’re actually meant to be 16, and one of my students.”
“I’m a UA student?!” Izuku asks in bewilderment. “How did I even get in?”
“It seems the quirk has left you with only the memories of your five-year-old self as well…” Aizawa mutters. He stands up to address his class. “We’re going back to the dorms for today. Let’s go.”
After multiple trips on Izuku’s part, Aizawa decided to just carry the kid the rest of the way. Izuku’s eyes were filled with wonder, pointing out every little thing he thought was cool.
“Whoa, this building is huge!” Little Izuku exclaimed. He tried to run inside after Aizawa set him down, but he immediately tripped.
“Yaoyorozu, do you think you could make clothes closer to his current size?” Aizawa suggested.
“I may be able to make one outfit. I’d maybe suggest going shopping later,” The girl replied.
“Great…” Aizawa mumbled. “Guess I’ll take some of you off campus this afternoon, for now, just look after him. As I said, lesson on responsibility or whatever…”
Shota just left his students to it, too tired to deal with a five-year-old without a proper nap first.
“So, how did I get into UA?” Midoriya asked after changing into the clothing Momo made.
“You saved me from a giant robot! Plus, your quirk is pretty powerful, so it’s no surprise!” A girl with short brown hair answered.
“My… quirk?” That couldn’t be right. He was quirkless, the doctor told him. He even showed the foot x-rays showing the extra joint he had in his toe to prove it.
“Yeah, you just smashed that robot! It was pretty cool,” the brunette continued.
Izuku’s brow furrowed. He decided to brush off the topic for now, but his brow was still furrowed in confusion when he said, “Um, could you guys tell me your names? I feel like I should know them if we’re… classmates?”
Part of him was sure this was a dream, although it had hurt every time he tripped. And it wasn’t weird to think a quirk could have done this; he had just found himself at UA wearing an oversized uniform.
Each classmate introduced themselves, except for an angry blonde in the corner.
“Bakugo, aren’t you going to introduce yourself too?” Kirishima asked.
“Why should I? If he doesn’t recognize me, then his brain’s not working right,” Bakugo grumbled.
Izuku’s brow furrowed more for a moment. “Kacchan?”
“D*** right, nerd,” Bakugo mumbled.
Despite protests on Bakugo’s part, Izuku came and sat next to him on the couch. He smiled at the angry blonde.
“Um… Can I ask a question?” Izuku requested.
“I’m not answering anything,” Bakugo grumbled.
“Go ahead,” Ochaco prompted.
“Do… Do I really have a quirk in the future?” Izuku asked quietly.
“Why wouldn’t you?” Todoroki questioned.
“The doctor said I was quirkless,” Izuku stated matter-of-factly. The statement shocked the class and caused Aoyama to drop his cheese.
Bakugo slightly smirked at his classmates' reactions, feeling slightly accomplished for being the only one who knew this.
“How is that possible? You definitely have a quirk,” Denki wondered.
“I don’t know. I have that extra joint in my pinky toe, the doctor showed me,” Midoriya answered. “So how could I have a quirk?”
Bakugo hid a knowing smile. Izuku only had his five-year-old memories, which made Katsuki the only one in the room to know about One For All. Speaking of which, All Might walked through the door then.
“Eraser told me to come and be an adult supervisor for you guys. So I am here,” All Might stated.
“Did he tell you what’s going on?” Uraraka asked.
“Just that young Midoriya got hit with some sort of quirk? He didn’t explain, though,” All Might answered.
“Who is that?” Izuku asked. All Might was in his skinny form, meaning young Izuku didn’t recognize him.
All Might turned to the voice. He was met with a boy with a mop of green hair, bright green eyes, and freckled cheeks. “Young… Midoriya?”
“Yeah, Deku got himself hit with a quirk that reversed him to his five-year-old self. He’ll be like this for a week,” Bakugo specified.
“Is nobody going to answer my question?” Izuku cut in.
“Midoriya, that’s All Might,” Todoroki answered.
Izuku only looked even more confused. But looking closer at the man, his hair was kind of like All Might’s. And he was certainly tall enough to be the towering hero. But why did he look so weak?
“How about we spend today catching Midoriya up on what he doesn’t remember about his time at UA? That way we get questions out of the way,” Iida suggested. Everyone agreed and took turns telling stories of their year. Izuku listened intently, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
