They are enemies now.
Obi-Wan has known this, as much as he didn’t want to admit it, since he saw the recordings, since he saw Anakin commit unspeakable brutality against their family, since he saw Anakin kneel before the Sith.
But there’s a finality to it as Anakin goes on the offensive, mad with the dark side, and any hope of getting through to him flickering out with each clash of their blades.
(It was already lost; even Padmé couldn’t get through to him. If not her, then who could?)
They are enemies, and Obi-Wan mourns what he must do.
