Summary
During her adventure, Cleric of Eilistraee Zeydri barely believed her luck when the mysterious Shadowheart confessed recipocated feelings. Believing she found a partner, the dark clerics' betrayal in the Shadowfell - choosing the path of Shar over her - broke open a nameless devastation long buried in Zeydri's heart.
One year later, Zeydri mourns where she should be rejoicing. Consumed by grief under Gale's increasingly worried eye, everything changes with the arrival of a letter. Sent from the Underdark and written in spidersilk, the letter can only be from one person.
Minthara Baenre's siege against Menzoberranzan continues, but her army is losing ground. She needs a champion, a surface-dwelling Drow who can bring light to her people, who can inspire them to see another way. She needs Zeydri Sels'Dor, the girl who once saved her. Uncertain but with nothing to lose, Zeydri descends into the Underdark. Finding Menzoberranzen collapsed by war, Zeydri helps Minthara save the ancestral city she never knew.
