Buford yelped awake as Baljeet nudged him awake. “Hey! What gives?”
“Who is Brian?” Baljeet whispered accusingly.
Buford furrowed his brow. “You tell me.”
“I dreamed I walked in on you giving another kid an atomic wedgie!” Baljeet hissed.
“Are you serious right now?” Buford exclaimed. “You’re yellin’ at me about somethin’ that happened in a dream?”
“I cannot believe you would do that to me!”
“I wouldn’t!” Buford protested. “You know I wouldn’t! I don’t even know any Brians!”
“How do I know you are telling the truth? How can I trust you?”
“Can you guys stop fighting like an old married couple?” Isabella groaned from her sleeping bag. “Some of us are trying to get our beauty rest.”
Phineas rolled over in his bed and murmured something about a flare nut wrench.
“Look… dweeb…” Buford sighed placatingly.
“Do not ‘dweeb’ me, Buford,” Baljeet snapped. “I am still upset with you.”
Buford sighed. “Baljeet… I’m sorry.”
Baljeet sighed. “I am sorry too. I do not know what came over me.”
Buford tenderly reached over and put Baljeet in a headlock. Baljeet’s fingers clutched at Buford’s forearm. Secure in the knowledge that all was forgiven, they drifted back to sleep.
