Bracelety always had a very strong view on Ice Cube. Ice Cube was, to her, perfect in every way. Someone she should strive to be like. Someone to inspire her, to push her forwards. Bracelety knew her exact stance on Ice Cube. She admired her, but it was always idolization, never anything else. Bracelety really never realized there could be anything else.
She didn't realize that until a few days ago, at least. A few days ago when a single package arrived. Bracelety had been shopping for Ice Cube merch, as she does, when she came across a listing for pretty, light blue Super Slip Shoes So Blah. And she remembered how excited Match was for them. Why not give her a little surprise? Bracelety ordered it and didn't think much about it until the package arrived.
That interaction really did change how Bracelety saw Match. The two helped each other, and when Match decided to take a "break-time" (a nap), Bracelety found herself deciding to doodle Match over Ice Cube. And since that day, well, Match started "infecting" Bracelety's sketchbook. But that wasn't really the way to put it. Sure, Bracelety could draw Ice Cube thousands of times, she probably had, but almost all of those drawing were simple doodles.
Bracelety's drawings of Match were always different. In a good way, of course. They were more detailed, they had more life, and they were the ones with the most time poured into them. Ice Cube could be plastered everywhere, but Match felt special. Bracelety was starting to feel an admiration to Match as well, but it wasn't idolized. Bracelety could easily admit Match had flaws. It just didn't make sense. Bracelety hadn't felt this type of admiration... ever.
Of course what better way to find answers to questions by asking your idol, right?
"Ice Cube?"
"Coming!"
Ice Cube opened the door to Bracelety, who looked a bit more anxious than usual, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead," Ice Cube led Bracelety into her room.
Bracelety had brought her sketchbook, opening up to a page with a masterful Match drawing on it, "I've been feeling... a specific way towards someone recently."
Ice Cube nodded along as Bracelety explained, "I'm starting to admire her, but, not in the same way I admire you."
"What do you mean?"
Bracelety sighed, flipping to a page full of doodles, "It's like, I admire you, but I also admire her. I wouldn't buy a bunch of merch of her, I feel this... admiration for her. But, as I said, not in the same way as towards you."
Bracelety showed Ice Cube the difference between drawings, "It's almost softer, in a way."
Ice Cube was starting to pick up the way Bracelety was feeling. Ice Cube had felt that way before, but now... well, that wasn't important. So, she nodded, "Do you feel like you want to spend a whole bunch of time with her?"
"Uh- yeah! Exactly that," Bracelety nodded, "I find myself thinking about the next time we'd talk, how she'd react to my art, all these weird feelings."
Ice Cube nodded, ready to drop the bombshell: "I think you have a crush on her."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I've felt that way too. Take your time, you'll figure it out."
"Thanks Icy!"
"No problem."
And with that, Bracelety took her sketchbook, running back to where she was supposed to be. Instead of talking with Ice Cube.
"Have any of you, like, seen Bracelety?"
"Last I saw her was running out of here, moron. Why do you need her?"
"That's, like, none of your, like, business."
"I think I have the total right to know why you'd want anything to do with that Ice Cube Obsessed Freak!"
"Firey Jr I'm actually going to kill you."
"You know she's serious when she doesn't use 'like' at all."
"You too 8-Ball."
"Ok, ok, sheesh. Look, she ran somewhere downstairs. Good luck finding her."
"I'M BACK!"
"Like, hi Braceletto!"
"HIII!!!"
"Nevermind."
"Wanna, like, see something cool?"
"YEAH!"
Match opened up the palm of her hand, revealing a kandi bracelet inside, "I haven't, like, made one in a while, but, like, I thought you'd like it..."
"...I LOVE IT!"
Bracelety jumped into Match's arms, the two of them embracing each other.
PDA walked by and scoffed, "Get a room."
Everyone stared at them with a look. Bracelety and Match especially. It wasn't romantic!
Was it?
