Dreaming About You

Chapter Text

“Uuuuuuuzzziiii~”

Uzi backs farther into a corner, her core pounding, as if it’s trying to escape; she hears footsteps, no, not footsteps. Those sickening crunches can’t even be considered steps, more like shuffling. Cyn is searching for her. The clang of steel and the crunch of Tessa’s bones getting closer and closer.

“Uuuuuzzzziii~”

A faint yellow glow is appearing around the corner. She’s getting closer. Uzi tries to use her solver to grab something, anything, but her powers fail her. Cyn turns the corner, her bright yellow eyes locking onto Uzi curled up on the floor in a desperate attempt to hide.

“Uuuuzzzziiii~.”

Cyn lunges.

“UZI!”

Uzi jolts awake, greeted by her two favorite faces. She’s in her room, she’s safe, Cyn is gone.

“UZI!!! YOU’RE AWAKE!!!” N’s tail rapidly wagged “cute” Uzi thought. She sat up to kiss him.

“Finally,” V scoffs “We’ve been trying to get you up for the past 5 minutes, you were out cold.”

Uzi hugs N before turning to V “Ugh, bite me, I was having a bad dream. Now what do you want?”

V’s face flickered with concern before returning to her usual glare. “Whatever, you can tell us while we’re on the way.”

“On the way whe– N! PUT ME DOWN!” Uzi was interrupted by N scooping her up and plopping her down onto her chair.

V Booped Uzi’s visor, a small grin on her face “We’re going hunting and you’re coming with, when’s the last time you had oil?” Uzi opened her mouth “No, snacking on r0ach3s doesn’t count” Uzi closed her mouth and pouted

“Fiiiinnnneeee, just let me get dressed” Uzi groaned, getting out of the chair and walking over to her dresser.

V scowled “Absolutely not. I’m hungry and I know for a fact you are too.” N yet again scooped her up, making sure not to harm the small girl

Uzi glared at the disassembly drone “We don’t get hungry, stupid. We’re robots.” V smacked her beanie off, Uzi yelped and scrambled to grab it, but was unable to escape N’s arms.

“You know what I meant, dummy, now let’s go before you start overheating,” V said, grabbing Uzi’s beanie and putting it back onto the purple drone’s head. V looked up at N “Are you ready?” N nodded with a smile as Uzi was still wriggling in a desperate attempt to escape his grasp.

“Come on Uzi, you never go hunting with us! It’ll be fun!” Uzi paused her wriggling to look up at the drone.

“I’m not hungry…”

V grabbed Uzi’s face, forcing the purple drone to look her in the eyes. “Uzi. I can hear your fans actively whirring. You need oil otherwise you’re going to melt into the floor.” Uzi glared at her.

“BITE ME! Fine, I guess I can go with you guys.” N cheered and V gave the girl a soft smile before continuing out of the bunker.

As they were heading through the long hallways of their home, they saw Khan working on a hydraulic for one of the doors.

“DAAADDD!!! I”M BEING KIDNAPPED! HELP ME!” Khan spun around, panic on his face. V smacked Uzi yet again

“Ignore her, we’re going hunting and she needs oil” Khan stared at them, processing her words before nodding and going back to his work. They continued down the last hallway, footsteps clanging against the metal. As they reached the final door, N stopped and stared solemnly at the pictures hung up on the wall, remembering the day he met Uzi.

“Hey… N, it wasn’t your fault. You were just following orders” Uzi stared at the disassembly drone in concern, knowing exactly what was going on in his mind. N snapped out of his trance, still visibly upset. They opened up the last door, freezing air rushing through the door along with bits of snow coating the ground. V sighed in relief, stepping outside and gesturing for the other two to follow.

“Man that feels nice, it’s always so warm and stuffy in there.” V groaned

“It’s made to work against you V, thought that was kinda obvious by now.” Uzi reminded her yet again, smirking. V glared at her

“Shut up, I haven’t hurt anyone in that bunker in months,” Uzi opened her mouth “”BRAYDENN DESERVED IT OKAY???”

“She has a point… he was being super rude” N chimed in.

“Thank you, N” V smirked at the pouting drone, rubbing it in that N took her side. V spread her wings, taking off into the sky with N quickly following. They soared through the air, taking in the frozen city. Uzi opened up a chatbox with V and N, telling them about her dream.

It had been 4 months since their encounter with Cyn, and everything had been semi-normal since then, other than Cyn occasionally possessing her tail to be a pest. After their final battle, Uzi and N had officially got together, and V became more distant. Uzi figured she was jealous of her because her and N used to have crushes on each other, and decided that she would give her space.

That was a horrible idea.

“Uzi… can we talk? It’s about you and N” Uzi was both shocked and annoyed, she had never seen V this vulnerable except for when she was literally about to die, and what was wrong with her and N? They never rubbed it in her face so it shouldn’t have been a problem.

“I’m not breaking up with him, if you’re upset with that then you can bite me.”

V’s face turned into a frown, it reminded Uzi of an upset cat. “That’s not what I wanted to talk about, can we go somewhere else? Please?” Uzi nodded and followed the drone to the Spire.

“So why have you brought me to the murder pile to talk about my boyfriend? This could have been a text message, V"

V’s face glowed with a bright yellow, clearly flustered. “Um… so you remember how N and I used to… like each other, right?”

“Yup, is that why you’ve been so salty lately? Because I took your dream boy that you pushed away?” Uzi was getting impatient, wishing V would just get to the point.

V stared at her dumbfounded, “Is that what you’ve thought this whole time? Is that what N has thought?” Tears welled up on her visor, warnings popping up all over on the screen alerting her of the increased stress levels.

Uzi looked at the girl with worry “Uh… kind of yeah, is that not what’s been happening?”

V was two seconds from sobbing “N-no… I th-thought t-that you guys were m-mad at me…” Her voice started glitching and becoming more distorted, which was never a good sign.

“V, calm down, neither of us were mad at you or are mad at you, we thought you needed space. What did you want to talk about?” Uzi’s concern for the drone was rapidly growing, she didn’t know how to help. “V, what do you need from me?”

V’s choked back sobs finally came out, glitched and distorted. “*hic* I- *hic* I li- *hic* I lo- l- lo-”

“Just spit it out already.”

“I LOVE YOU!” the drone sobbed. Uzi’s brain broke, what did she just say? Did Lizzy put her up to this? There’s no way this was happening, V would never, she couldn’t.

“...me? Not LIzzy? Not literally anyone else”

“*hic* a-and N…” Uzi was still processing, trying to figure out how to console the drone. She had always thought that V was cute, who wouldn’t? But she had always pushed it down so that way she wouldn’t get mauled. She shuddered at the memory of the last person that tried to hit on her. They had to build him a whole new body. But Uzi AND N? She’d heard of humans having those kinds of relationships but she had never really considered that drones could do it too.

“So… um… I don’t know what to say? Ugh this is so cringe,” V buried her face in the snow and wailed, regretting ever having this conversation. “Wait no, that’s not what I meant. I think you’re really cute but I would still have to talk with N.” Uzi slowly approached the crying drone, embracing her from behind and pulling her out of the snow. “Have you already talked with him?” Uzi’s voice turned gentle, like she was talking to a child. V shook her head. “...do you want to call him or have me text him about it?”

V’s face looked distressed. “Um… uh *hic* u-uh u-h” V’s fans kicked into overdrive, basically hyperventilating.

“I’ll talk to him about it right now, okay?” V nodded and returned to the snow, facing away from Uzi, still crying. “Uh uh, you come here.” V turned around and looked at the purple drone. Uzi gestured towards her lap, a slight violet blush appearing on her face. V stared at her for a moment, a bright yellow glow spreading across her screen. She hesitantly crawled over, and sat in front of Uzi, still blushing. “FOR SOLVER’S SAKE V JUST LAY DOWN!” V slowly lowered her head onto Uzi’s lap, “she’s way too warm… she needs oil” Uzi sent a message to N, broadcasting it onto her screen so V could see

DarkxWolf17: Hey N, can you bring some oil to the Spire? We need to talk

SDN: Yeah sure, is something wrong?

DarkxWolf17: V’s not feeling too good, I’ll explain when you get here

SDN: On my Way! (Biscuits, I hate autocorrect)

“He’ll be here in a little, okay V?” Uzi leaned down to kiss V’s forehead, softly stroking her hair. “I love you too, V” V let out a small little giggle, except for once it wasn’t the malicious gleeful giggle that she normally emitted, it was softer, more content. They sat for a while, the only noise being made was the whir of their fans. When N finally arrived, he found Uzi and V curled up in the snow. It was dark, with the only light being the faint glows of their visors, the violet and gold lights mixing together, their fingers intertwined in the twilight. N slung his satchel off of his shoulder, laying a few legs from the does he snatched along the way beside them.

SDN: I’m here [image]

A notification from N woke Uzi up, she opened up the image to find that it was a picture of her and V laying together. “N..?” She groaned out, feeling around for her boyfriend. She grabbed something metal, pulling it towards her to find a leg of some robotic animal. She gently shook V awake, the disassembly drone grumbling until Uzi offered her the oil. She drank it all quickly, seeming much better after her rest and food. “N? Can you come out now?” V’s eyes widened, Uzi could see the panic and regret rising throughout her body “It’s alright V, it’ll be alright.” N stepped in front of them shortly after, turning the brightness of his eyes up so they could see him better.

“V, are you alright?” N’s voice was full of concern, his eyes staring at her with worry. “Are you hurt? Did someone do something to you?” Do we need to stay in the Spire again?” N’s voice grew more panicked, fear and anger rising through his body at the thought of the worker drones hurting her. “If someone hurt you I swear I’ll kill the—“

“N! CALM DOWN! V’s fine she just told me some stuff that involves us,” Uzi interrupted him, stopping his spiral “V, do you want to explain or should I?” V shook her head, hiding her face in the fluff of Uzi’s coat. “Alright N, come with me real quick, I don’t want to make her any more upset,” Uzi gestures for him to follow, leading them into the landing pod. “So… V is still in love with you,” N’s eyes widened with shock, he opened his mouth to speak, but Uzi cut him off “We’re not breaking up, she apparently loves me too. I think she’s cute and all and wouldn’t mind the three of us being together but it’s up to you.”

“Oh! Oh biscuits… is that why she’s been so distant?” Uzi nodded her head “Well… I’ve honestly still had a crush on her, but I didn’t want to make you jealous… biscuits this is complicated… sure, why not?”

“I thought she was mad too, she’s really upset right now, how do we deal with… that? I’ve never really seen her vulnerable before.”

V watched the two drones walk into the landing pod, fear coursing through her body. “They’re going to hate me, I never should have said anything, you’re such an idiot V. You just ruined one of your only friendships, you don’t deserve to be around them anyways, they’re way too good for you.” V’s mind raced, her thoughts turning against her and making her feel worse. Curious about what the two were talking about, she crept over to one of the holes in the landing pod, eavesdropping onto the two drones.

“How do we deal with… that?” V’s entire body went rigid. Did Uzi really just say that? “I’ve never really seen her vulnerable before” so that’s what Uzi thought of her? She should’ve expected it, they had a rough start but she thought the drone had grown fond of her like she had. Why would she let her lay on her if that’s what she thought? “It was to shut your pathetic blubbering up, idiot.” She covered her mouth, trying not to sob again.

“Don’t give her some space, that’s for sure. It’ll just make it worse.” They thought she couldn’t handle being alone, like a child. They’ll never love her, how could they? She’s a killer. She pushed away N when he needed her and tried to kill Uzi so many times. She doesn’t deserve their love. A muffled sob escaped her mouth. Uzi hushed N, and she could hear the two approaching the hole she was listening from. V could see the yellow and purple eyes as they peered through, locking their eyes onto V’s pitiful expression.

“Hey there love, you doing alright?” V blushed slightly at the name, before pulling herself together.

“I— *hic* I heard you two talking— *hic* about me… I’m sorry that you have to “deal with ‘that’”. I should *hic*  just go, I’m *hic* sorry, I’ve *hic* ruined *hic* everything.”

“That’s not what we meant, dummy. Stay there or I swear to solver I’m going to drag you back here by the core.” Uzi disappeared, shortly followed by N. They exited the pod and sat next to V, each softly taking one of her hands. “V, we love you. I don’t know what you heard but you clearly didn’t hear enough.” V’s brain was malfunctioning. They love her? That can’t be right. She’s a monster, a killer, she doesn’t deserve it. So why does she want it? Why does her core skip a beat when they tell her that?

“*hic* you do? You— *hic* you promise?” Uzi got closer to V, caressing her face

“I promise, V” Uzi planted a kiss on the drones visor, before picking her up and bringing her to a pile of snow, where she laid her down and took her place beside her. V perked up, not believing what she was hearing. A bright blush rose across her face. N slowly approached, laying with the others and giving both of them a kiss on the forehead. They sat for a while, not talking, just enjoying each other’s presence. They eventually fell asleep in the Spire, the wind blowing around them, the snow falling softly on them, creating a thin, cold blanket for the three lovers.
