Notes:
Day 26's prompt for @thedrabblecollective's November Drabble Challenge was 'amber'-admittedly, I was stumped. But then I thought, it could have been left behind at a crime scene? And I'm sure Morgan would know all about it. I'm not sure how well this works, but I tried. lol

Morgan lifted the pendant shard with tweezers, the amber catching the sunlight.
“See this? People think amber is just a gemstone, but it’s basically nature’s time capsule. It traps things. Secrets, bugs, DNA—whatever’s unlucky enough to get stuck.”
Karadec folded his arms. “And this helps us how?”
“Because this piece cracked off during the struggle. Which means whatever’s inside?” She taps it. “Could tell us exactly who was here. Our victim didn’t just fight back—they left us a prehistoric receipt.”
“A clue. Try to keep up.”
He grimaced, wondering what he did to deserve this.
