Her eyes dart back to his, brows raised in surprise and her mouth twitches into a small smile. She didn't think she was this obvious when she was stewing in thought, she felt a little shocked to be seen. Maybe he's just more observant than the people she surrounds herself with.
“Guess I’m still stuck in the painting. “ She offers back, her fingers tapping idly at the metal bar underneath them. “I think this city has this way of bringing out the worst in people, whether we try to keep it back or not.
