“I want one too,” Sirius had whispered then, eyes fixed on the hand Evan had lost in Barty’s hair in his sleep.
Remus had caught his gaze on the other couple’s tattooed wedding bands too many times to ask what he really meant. Since the day Sirius learned what the tattoo represented, it had been a fixation of his own. As if it never occured to him before that some people would be so true to their love that they would get them engraved on their skin.
