Summary
Hikaru doesn't die from that head injury on the mountain and recovers. After graduating high school he and Yoshiki go to the same college in Tokyo. Yoshiki has been painfully in love with Hikaru for most of their lives and still hasn't come to terms with his own sexuality and chooses to assume he and Hikaru will never happen, but doesn't want to be with anyone else.
Little does he know, Hikaru has also been struggling with his own sexual identity and only recently realized that the feelings he has had for Yoshiki all this time were romantic and that he had been looking for Yoshiki in girls who have always disappointed him. Hikaru soon figures out that his suspicions about Yoshiki were true, and slowly tries to bring Yoshiki out of his shell now that they were out of their small conservative town. But he soon realizes that it will take a lot more time and effort than he thought to undo the social programming they had both been put under for their entire lives. But Hikaru is confident that he can help Yoshiki by first helping himself since he had always been the more brave and secure of the two.
