Work Text:
Okuto should probably stop staring.
It took hot coffee spilling onto his hand to snap him out of his daze. The spoon dangling over the rim fell to the floor with a loud clatter, and he only barely managed to catch the cup. He threw an apologetic smile at his co-workers, grabbing a rag to wipe off the mess he made.
When Okuto looked back, the handsome stranger was throwing glances at the counter, at him, laughing behind his hand with his friends.
Ah...
He felt himself go red partly from embarrassment at slipping up, and mostly from how that guy's entire face lit up when he smiled. His chestnut-brown hair bounced with every movement, and his brown eyes seemed to shine with golden flecks under the LED of the booth he and his friends were sitting in.
Okuto had never seen such an adorable human before.
And he had made such a fool of himself.
So much for being professional.
He turned his back to the rest of the cafe to wash the coffee cup he had almost shattered to pieces. It's cool, Okuto. Relax. Restart. He can make their order without messing up.
In fact...
Okuto wielded the frothing jug in one hand and the cup in the other, a determined glint in his eyes.
He'll make this ethereal young man the best latte art he's ever made in his six months of working here.
He got to work.
Swirls to match his hair, soft at the edges to match his eyes, just enough cream like he ordered...
Okuto had probably redone this more than any order before, but...
He watched from the corner of his eye as the stranger's eyes lit up when the coffee was served.
Yeah. The scolding from his boss later was worth it.
