If you’ve read *A Study in Love & Deduction,* you’ll know the timelines in all three parts are very tightly packed.
Certain events only make sense because they happen in specific gaps—like John’s one-month absence at the start of *Where Love and Lies Entwine,* during which Sherlock met Shruti, rescued her, and fell for her. The rest of the series follows the same rhythm: dense timelines, minimal breathing room.
Part of that was intentional. I wanted to reach the major checkpoint moments—like their wedding—instead of getting stuck writing endless “in-between” fluff chapters. The somewhat tight pacing kept the main narrative moving, but it also meant many softer or deeper scenes had to stay unwritten or unpublished… until now.
*Moments Between the Chapters* is a home for everything that happened in those skipped spaces.
For example: if I jumped from 8 June to 12 June in *Love and Lies Entwined,* this collection might explore what happened in those four missing days. These are scenes I didn’t publish in the completed parts, and can’t insert into *Where the Light Gathers* without disrupting the narrative flow—its wordcount is going to explode as it is.
Some entries will be pure missing scenes.
Some will be soft, tender moments that simply didn’t fit into the main storyline.
Some will be fun what-ifs or AUs of Shruti/Sherlock canon events—because let’s be honest, it’s too much fun not to explore them. For instance, I’ve written multiple versions of Shruti’s pregnancy reveal, ranging from super serious to chaotic and hilarious. The actual version will appear in Part 3, but the variants can live here.
There’s no strict chronological order in this collection.
Each chapter will begin with a brief summary to give you the context for what’s about to unfold.
These aren’t just deleted scenes. They’re new, fresh moments—pieces of their lives that existed between the paragraphs, finally getting a place of their own.
