One night Uzi was having a LOVELY dream before she was woken up at 3:00 AM (according to her internal clock) to some ominous clanking and rustling noises coming from down the hall from the kitchen. She tried ignoring the noises, but alas, because she was SO lucky, the noises persisted, making Uzi unable to fall back to sleep.
Groaning internally, Uzi decided that she PROBABLY should check out the super-creepy-noises coming from outside the safety of her own bedroom during the supposed witching hour just in case N or V were getting murdered, or something like that.
She got out of her bed slowly as she was praying to robo-GOD (does that count as praying to herself now or?) that the little DEMON that was currently residing in her tail wouldn't wake up as Cyn would ruin any chance of Uzi being stealthy with her constant yapping.
Thankfully, because the universe decided to not have a personal vendetta against her, Cyn stayed fast asleep in Uzi’s tail, leaving the tail to be idling midair like it normally was when Cyn was not actively controlling it.
Uzi left her room and crept down the hallway, being as stealthy as one could be if they were a robot made out of metal, trying to see if she could spot anyone or anything in the hallway.
It was pretty dark in the hallway since it was three in the morning, so Uzi decided to use the light of her dormant tail as a flashlight so she wouldn’t bump into anything and make noise. She didn’t see anything out of place, and the noises still persisted.
She eventually found herself at the root of the noise, the kitchen. Uzi entered the kitchen, one of her hands ready to call a Solver glyph into existence just in case it was needed. After looking around the kitchen, Uzi realized that it wasn’t an intruder that was making the noise, it was just-
“V, what the hell are you doing?” Uzi asked as she stared at V, her voice so deadpan that it would rival any other deadpan in the world.
V was hunched over on the floor like a feral dog absolutely CHOWING DOWN on an assortment of screws, bolts, and scrap metal that were all mixed together inside a bowl.
Ah, so that’s where the noises were coming from. Uzi thought to herself with a smirk on her face, internally taking a picture of V and saving it to her dedicated folder called “V pics she would probably murder me over </3”.
Said noise-maker had stopped her snacking and was staring at Uzi with the look of a kid who had just been caught by their mother with their hand in the cookie jar. (Uzi proceeded to take another picture, heh.)
“Uh, hey, Uzi.” V finally replied before swallowing whatever she was eating and standing up, dusting her hands off.
“Heyyy, so like, what are you doing? It’s like, 3 am.” Uzi asked V, she was relieved to know that nobody was currently breaking into her house to murder her, but what V was doing was funny (and a tad bit concerning).
“I couldn't sleep, and I was hungry.” V responded, stretching and cracking her back while scanning Uzi up and down. “Are you using your tail as a flashlight?” She said in a slightly teasing tone, a smirk making its way onto her face.
A slight blush erupted onto Uzi’s visor, “No I wasn’t, bite me!” She exclaimed before dropping her tail so it would lay in its idle position behind her.
She paused for a moment before saying “Yeah, I was. ANYWAYS uh you should go back to sleep, it’s late. And maybe if you wanted to you could sleep in my room orsomethinglikethatidontcareyoucandowhatever” Uzi turned around and left to start going to her room, hoping V would follow her.
V did end up following her, still with the slight smirk on her face from
Uzi climbed into her bed, making room for V, who joined her in bed. This was an ABSOLUTE WIN for Uzi because number one, it was kind of cold in her bunker and V being a disassembly drone meant she naturally ran warmer, and number two, she L O V E S it when V and her cuddle.
“You’re so warm.” Uzi said quietly, feeling her systems prepare for sleep mode once again. She arranged herself so she was on top of V, as it was an optimal position for maximum heat absorption, and Uzi loved being able to hear the beating of V’s core.
V’s fingers were carding through Uzi’s hair with a delicacy that she only reserved for people like Uzi, “And your hair is so soft.” V replied, feeling tired herself as she had not slept yet.
Uzi yawned “Goodnight, you glorified space heater.” She said to V in a playful voice, feeling content, warm, and safe.
As she felt her processors dragging her into the soft embrace of unconsciousness, she heard V respond with a softly spoken, “Goodnight, purple thing.”
