Pugsley Addams and the Case of the Awkward Exes

Summary:

(*ˊᗜˋ*)/ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵃ ⁿⁱᑦᵉ ᵈᵃʸ

It’s Pugsleys POV.
———————————————————————————
Dear Diary,

My first year at Nevermore was—surprisingly—not a disappointment.
Actually, it was kind of great.
Loneliness, resurrecting the dead, getting kidnapped (10/10, would do again), and almost losing my sister and my powers.
Honestly? Pretty solid year.

Where do I even start?
———————————————————————————-

Notes:

I think I like this website more than I’d like to admit. I’m currently in my writing era — it’ll probably end soon, but until then, I’ll use it for Wyler stories. Even though this one isn’t really a Wyler story… it’s more like a Pugsley story. I just wanted his perspective, the way I imagine he would think — you know what I mean?
Anyway! Have fun reading!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The first days at Nevermore were… awkward.
I just wanted a friend. One single friend who didn’t scream or run away.
So when Ajax told us the story about the Skull Tree, I had to check it out.
Obviously.
And guess what? My powers brought back a zombie.
A real one.
He was awesome. Kind of rude sometimes, but he was a zombie—so that’s basically a compliment.

I hid him in Eugene’s bee house.
I may have eaten one of the bees.
Just one.
(He doesn’t need to know.)

Anyway—Eugene found out about the zombie.
He wasn’t impressed.
Probably because Slurp—yes, I named him Slurp—had “bad manners,” whatever that means.

No one found him… until we went to that camp.
Then they took him away and sent him to Willow Hill Psychiatric.

The days after that were lonely again.
And then suddenly my sister was in a coma.
She got pushed out a window by the Hyde—lucky her.
(I wanted that too. But I had my own Hyde experience later, which is way ahead in the story!)

She woke up again on our family’s favorite holiday—Día de Muertos, the Day of the Dead.
Perfect timing. Very on-brand.

And surprise!
She immediately got threatened by her ex-lover, who said he’d kill her and her best friend on that day.

WHY does she get all the cool stuff??

While she was off trying to “bond” with him as his new master or whatever, my mom told my dad what was going on.
I wasn’t there—I was out with my father, looking for Slurp.
We didn’t find him at first, which put me in a terrible mood.

Instead, we ended up at something called “Pilgrim World.”
I had no idea what it was.
I asked Dad to go anyway, but honestly? I was still too annoyed because Slurp was missing.

But then we did find him!
In the so-called “Scary Cabinet.”
(Not scary at all. Zero stars.)

My powers reacted faster than the cheap jump-scare props, and there he was—Slurp—eating a brain.
I was a little shocked (just a little).
I asked him what he was doing… and he talked.
He actually talked to me.

He even said my name.
My boy had grown up.

…But it was time to let him go.
So I did.
And then I was sad again.

A few days later, we had a family dinner in our parents’ cabin. My sister was acting weird — even weirder than usual — but I didn’t really care. I was still riding the high of getting punished for bringing Slurp back to life. Totally worth it. Honestly, best punishment ever.

Then I found out my sister somehow switched bodies with her roommate.
Yeah. That happened.
I don’t even question things anymore.

And then suddenly we had a charity gala?
Okay… sure. Whatever.

It was painfully boring, and I still didn’t have any friends, so I slipped out. Nobody in my family noticed — obviously. Eugene was outside, we talked about the gala for like ten seconds, and then I wandered off.

That’s when things finally got interesting.

Slurp showed up and kidnapped me. ME!
Finally! Something exciting happened to me for once!

Honestly? Best night of the semester.

I woke up tied to a chair with chains around me — honestly? Awesome.
Ten out of ten, would recommend.

But Slurp — or Isaac Night, apparently — just wanted to show me what it feels like to be treated like a pet.
I didn’t mind.
I didn’t even mind when he shoved that mystery meat into my mouth. I’ve eaten worse. Voluntarily.

The only thing that did bother me was how weirdly close he and his sister were. And when I say weird, I mean even more than Addams-level weird — and that’s saying something. When Tyler (Isaac’s nephew and Wednesday’s ex-lover… yeah, awkward) came back to their family cabin, they practically jumped apart like they’d been caught doing something illegal.

Tyler told them he left my costume somewhere and made an anonymous call to the police.
Isaac leaned down to me and said, “Today will be fun,” but apparently Tyler only had to put his “old flame” on the board. His mom started stroking my hair, and I gave her the side-eye of the century.
Like — Ma’am. Personal space. Please.

Tyler said Wednesday would know she was being played, and honestly? I agree. My sister isn’t stupid. Terrifying sometimes, but not stupid.

Everything after that happened fast. One second I was in the cabin, the next I was back at the Skull Tree — the same place I dug Isaac out of his grave and brought him back to life.
The one my parents dug for him thirty years ago.

Dramatic much?

Wednesday showed up, and of course I wanted to go to her — she’s my sister, and also she looked ready to murder someone, which is always fun to watch up close.
But Isaac yanked me back by the chain around the collar on my neck.

The pain?
Incredible.
Honestly made my night.

He started monologuing — villains love that — and suddenly an arrow shot straight through his glove.
Turns out Thing is actually HIS hand.
Even Wednesday looked shook, and she never gets shook.

Tyler grabbed Thing like Thing had personally insulted him. I really want to know what went down between those two. Probably something embarrassing.

Isaac then just casually reattached Thing to his arm like it was no big deal, and then everything exploded into chaos.
Tyler grabbed the leash attached to my collar, and suddenly Wednesday was flying through the air, dangling above the grave because of Isaac’s creepy powers.

I tried to get to her, but Tyler’s grip on the leash was iron-tight. I guess Hyde-strength really does something for your forearms.

Isaac started shouting that the Addams family would end today — starting with Wednesday.
Like… rude.
Sure, my family is weird, but come on.
I brought you back to life.
That deserves at least a “thank you,” not a murder attempt.

I couldn’t say much because of the cloth stuffed in my mouth, but I still tried to get out of Tyler’s grip when Wednesday started falling into the grave.
And yes — I was shocked.

Sure, she and I don’t have the best sibling bond, but she’s still my older sister, and only I get to torment her. Not some resurrected family soap-opera villain.

The roots wrapped around her, holding her still.
She could’ve at least looked at me.
Just one glance!
But no — she looked at Tyler.

Rude. Extremely rude.
I’m literally your little brother, Wednesday. Priorities, please.

Then the dirt started pouring into the grave until she was buried completely — alive.
I just stared at the spot where she disappeared, still processing that the universe had robbed me of the chance to annoy her that morning.

Isaac started walking away, and Tyler looked like he wanted to tear him limb from limb… but he followed anyway, yanking the chain hard.

Pain level: amazing.
Experience: 10/10.

We finally got to the Nevermore graveyard, and there was Tyler’s mother hiding behind a tombstone like some creep in a horror movie. Isaac showed her the hand and she screamed—actually screamed—then jumped, hugged him, and said, “I missed you, little friend,” to her brother’s hand.
Yeah. The hand.
Tyler and I shared the same look: pure, absolute disturbance. Even for us, that was weird.

Then the real chaos started when we reached the Ingo Tower. Isaac rebuilt everything with his powers—cool, honestly—and I got shoved into a chair again. Tyler chained me to it (again) and when he crouched down, I let a tiny spark flick off my finger just to see what would happen. He jolted back like I electrocuted his soul and muttered something about frying my memory.

I would’ve laughed if I didn’t have a cloth stuffed in my mouth.
Actually—I laughed anyway. It was fun.

He put some device on my head, turned around, and bam—suddenly he was flying just like Wednesday had flown.
Wednesday!
What happened? Was she still alive? (Hopefully. I still want to argue with her.)

Tyler got slammed onto the table and these… chain-roots-thingies wrapped around his wrists and ankles like a supernatural burrito.

10/10 chaos. Would watch again.

But… I also felt a little sorry for Tyler.
He asked his mom what she was doing, and she said it was too late to save her—but not him.
He said they can’t do it, and she just… said she loved him.
Okay. Sure. Weird, but okay.

Then it began.
The machine absorbed my powers.
I screamed through the cloth.

Pain?
100/10 — totally awesome.

Comfortable?
9/10 — they could have at least taken the cloth out of my mouth like Wednesday always did when she tortured me.

Tyler screamed too when the lightning hit him.
It felt like forever, but it wasn’t.
Because suddenly — it stopped.
Why?
Because Wednesday.
She sliced Tyler’s “chains” with an axe.

He asked why.
Her only answer?
“I missed.”

Wednesday doesn’t miss!
She never misses anything!
She always hit the apple off my head when we were younger… and she never missed once.

And those looks they gave each other—just like our parents!
Disgusting!
But I guess that’s what you do when you save your ex-lover?
Ugh.

Tyler freed the rest of himself and then—bam—transformed into the Hyde.
I was actually there to see it!
It was awesome!
Duh!

His bones cracking, growing bigger, muscles bulging…
Seriously, 10/10 transformation.
Would watch again.

Then he attacked his uncle and mother.
Wednesday freed me… but only halfway.
I mumbled her name through the cloth.
She put her hand over my mouth, shushed me, and said she hadn’t seen such a mother-son relationship since… Psycho.

Yeah, sure.
She just wanted to admire the monster.

She stopped paying attention when mom came and freed me.
Thanks at least to you, mom.

Dad showed up and said we had to get out.
Too late.

The tower exploded.

We all flew in different directions and landed on the ground, unconscious.
When we woke up, Mom—being the dramatic disaster she is—took a little longer, and then announced that Wednesday’s vision hadn’t come true after all.

What vision?
Why am I always the last one to know everything?

Then we confronted Isaac, who was standing by a broken window, watching Tyler and his mom fight.
He started talking about losing the only person he ever loved.
Apparently, he has a weird obsession with his sister.
I could never.

But that wasn’t enough for him.
He decided to take something that Mom and Dad loved and started choking Wednesday with his powers.
Mom and Dad tried to talk him down.
Meanwhile, I was way too focused on the Hyde fight.

It was… incredible. Duh!

My attention snapped back when Wednesday suddenly wasn’t choking anymore, all thanks to Thing — yes, Thing — who poked Isaac right in the eye and then started fighting him.
Imagine that: a full-grown man losing a battle to a disembodied hand.
Pathetic, honestly.
(But let’s be real, it would probably happen to me too.)

Long story short?
Thing grabbed Isaac’s clock-heart and ripped it right out.

I would absolutely watch it again.
Preferably with popcorn.

Thing crawled back to us and broke the stitches holding Isaac together.
We all welcomed him home like the hero he is.

Now I’ll skip the boring part — the day we left school.
It was boring but also exciting because I finally got a friend!
Eugene said I could visit him during the break.
I know, I’m shocked too.

Oh, and Wednesday ran off with Thing and Uncle Fester to find her roommate, who is apparently an Alpha werewolf now?
Good luck with that, I guess.

Well, Diary — that’s all for today.
See you soon.

Notes:

hope you liked the story! Feel free to leave a comment if you want — give me some feedback, because I’m sure I messed something up. I couldn’t rewatch the scenes since I don’t have Netflix anymore, so I had to rely on memory.

Love you all <3
