Muchausen syndrome by proxy is defined as a form of abuse in which the perpetrator induces real or apparent illness in the victim in order to assume the role of the heroic caregiver.
As applied to Sherlock’s behaviour, this definition is not correct. Sherlock doesn’t believe in heroes, and he doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
