Summary
Lauren had a habit of getting into situations that would make for a great memoir one day. That’s how her college friends put it. It was their way of letting her know they were afraid for her impulse control, or lack thereof. This was a trait that evolved growing up, and mutated into something seemingly unfixable as soon as she left home for undergrad. With her relatives in the rearview, the chance of a fresh start intoxicated her.
She’d give her friends an innocent shrug of her shoulders, claiming “these things just happen.” It was all a front. She had a nose for trouble, a good story. It was impossible to pretend she didn't get a thrill from it all. But the pattern of being in situation after situation was wearing her out. She wished for boredom and simplicity. She wished to be okay with that. The problem was, getting felt up by Park Sunghoon, who was more handsome and caring and alluring in person, seemed like more of a reward for her antics than anything.
