It’s a full week after he’d been notified of his new partner when Dana Scully finally appears in his basement office. One week’s notice was more than enough time to research her. He isn’t lying when he tells her he liked her senior thesis - he’d found it a tad juvenile, yes, but she was twenty-two at the time. She’d probably think the same of his undergraduate dissertation.
Mulder can’t help but watch as Scully leaves his office almost as quickly as she’d entered. “I’m looking forward to working with you, too,” he says to himself. He eats another sunflower seed.
