Work Text:

The meetings held by the four members of the Hunting Dogs were usually chaotic. Despite being arranged to get on top of the work that is constantly accumulating for them, these meetings generally were (but not limited to) consisting of: arguing over getting to work, Teruko annoying Tachihara to death, and constant fighting between Saigiku Jouno and Tetchou Suehiro. Whether it was verbal or physical, it didn't matter; they fought every way known to mankind.

"Jouno! Tetchou! While I applaud your bloodlust, can you please get to work!" Teruko snapped. "We need to get this situation sorted soon, otherwise the government will start to question our work!"

The man with peppermint hair relinquished his hold on the brunette, who just stared at his superior with unseeing eyes. Even without fully looking at him, you could instantly tell that Tetchou hadn't heard a word. Jouno nodded to their commander, and took his seat at the table once more.

"Thank you, boys. Now, as I was saying..."

Around four that afternoon, the Hunting Dogs concluded their meeting, having come to a mutual agreement and no more fights between Jouno and Tetchou erupting. Teruko hopped out of her chair ay the head of the table and eagerly ran to Tachihara's side, begging the latter to take her shopping.

"Tachihara, pleasee~! I am your commander and you must do as I order!"

"I already told you, Teruko-san, I have a date with Gin tonight, and if I stand her up Akutagawa-san will ruthlessly kill me." Tachihara's honey eyes overflowed with the worthless yearning for her to understand his reason. But Teruko's not been known to give in so easily. The remaining two Hunting Dogs listened to their conversation until they were out of earshot -- at least for Tetchou.

Gathering the papers littered on the table, Tetchou wondered aloud: "How long do you think it'll take for Tachihara-san to convince the commander?"

"Never," Jouno replied. "He might have to go with being killed by his girlfriend's brother."

"Or bring Teruko-san with him."

The room became imbued with their laughter. The brunette walked round to Jouno, rays of light from golden hour shining on him and making him look like a gift from heaven. Tetchou's breath caught ever so slightly, but Jouno still noticed.

"Too beautiful for you, am I?" He chuckled, getting lost in the sound of the swordman's heartbeat -- though you wouldn't be able to pay him a billion yen to admit out loud.

"You can't see how you look right now," Tetchou breathed back. He shook his head and went to collect the papers in Jouno's hands. However, the peppermint-haired man had other ideas. Once he felt the papers leave his grasp, he pulled the brunette's face to him and kissed him. Tetchou, still keeping a light hold on the work in his hands, wrapped his arms around Jouno's waist and kissed him back. For you see, the two had not only a work relationship, but a home relationship. They kept the second one a secret, as Teruko wouldn't ever let it down if she knew; their commander was a vicious women with an appetite for blood, after all.

The couple were so distracted by their kiss that they didn't hear Tachihara enter the room. The redhead watched his colleagues, confusion scrawled across his features. I could've sworn they were fighting an hour ago, he thought. How'd it get to this so fast?

He continued staring for another few minutes, constantly shifting his weight and a silence save for his coworkers kissing befalling the room, the awkwardness hanging the air so thickly it's a surprise neither caught on, too entranced in their own business. Eventually, Tachihara decided to push his luck further, and let out a small cough. "I, um, just came to grab some papers. The commander wanted them before she left," he explained quickly, panicking as Tetchou glared at him with murderous intent and Jouno began pulling a tantou out of his uniform. "But they can, uh.. wait until tomorrow. Have a good evening!" He called over his shoulder as he rushed out of the meeting room faster than a thunderclap.

Before he was out of earshot, Jouno shouted to him, "Breath a word of what you saw, and I'll remove every limb in your body in ways you didn't even know were possible. Am I clear?"

"Yes sir!" Was his reply.

Tetchou turned back to the man he'd been kissing only a minute prior. "Did I ever tell you how much I love when you yell at someone that isn't me?"

"Forgive me, but I was under the impression that you also liked it when I yelled at you," Jouno whispered into the other man's ear.

The brunette smiled before kissing him again.
