    Ilya is unreadable, but there was something there, something in the corner of his eyes that Shane just couldn’t read under the golden light. Maybe it was lust. Maybe it was contempt.

    Ilya blinks suddenly, his gaze torn away by Svetlana mentioning his name.

    Maybe it was nothing at all.
