Ballroom voguing scene alternate universe

Notes:

Hi everyone, this might begin a series, I don't know, I had parts of that story in my mind and I needed to lay it down. Maybe I'll write other one shots around this universe if people are interested but I need to finish my other story, Meraki, as well hehe

Thank you for reading this little piece, do not hesitate to let me know what you thought about it 🫶🏻

Work Text:

"Seijuurou, can you come here real quick?"

Seijuurou isn't too sure what to expect when he hears Tetsuya calling him from the bathroom of their apartment, but he does know that the latter has been trying to finish getting ready for longer than an hour.

Which means that Tetsuya is going full out for an event.

And Tetsuya going full out on his make up and outfit only has one meaning: said event is a voguing ball and Seijuurou doesn't know how he feels about that.

He's glad that Tetsuya is going back to events, going back to his safe place, to the community he treasures without overthinking it too much—let's be honest, he's probably still overthinking it.

Because Seijuurou never meant to drive him away from the ballroom scene, never meant to hurt him so much that he would start wondering if his presence was welcomed, if he could still be part of it.

(Though, Tetsuya should know he will always be welcomed within the ballroom community. Maybe the one who couldn't be so sure of that should be Seijuurou himself instead.)

But he's also a tiny bit annoyed that he wasn't made aware of Tetsuya's attendance at that ball—though maybe now that he's reading the Instagram post of the event, he could have guessed it. But had he known, Seijuurou would have tagged along or at least dropped him to the venue; anything to make him feel like he participated in some sort of way.

So even if he feels like complaining, he wordlessly leaves his book behind and joins his boyfriend in the bathroom he's been occupying to see if he can assist him, because this is probably the reason for Tetsuya's call. He sometimes calls him when he's struggling to pick something, and since it doesn't happen a lot, Seijuurou hurries a little.

"What can I do for you?" And oh, when Tetsuya turns to face him, there is a brief moment when Seijuurou wishes he would stay home with him rather than go to that ball while looking so pretty.

Because although Tetsuya doesn't like to take the spotlight, he does allow himself to be seen in the ballroom community, which is both a blessing and a curse in Seijuurou's opinion. He has the opportunity to see his usually quiet and unassuming boyfriend in a daring office wardrobe, jacket open just enough to let Seijuurou glance at a sparkly yet see-through bodysuit underneath, thin glasses that frame his face perfectly, making him look surprisingly intimidating. Tetsuya adjusts his glasses and Seijuurou notices that the latter has stolen some of his rings; a clear choice to match his nails (they must be press-ons, or did he get his nails done?)...

It's doing things to him.

"Is the theme of the runway office wo-" and before Seijuurou can finish his question, Tetsuya gets closer and presses his lips to his boyfriend's cheek, lingering a few extra seconds before he draws back, focusing on the mark left.

Seijuurou is at a loss but he does not dare move away.

"Hm, it looks pretty on your skin," Tetsuya nods to himself, as if sealing some sort of deal with himself before he presses his lips tightly, spreading the gloss evenly again. His eyes catch Seijuurou's surprised ones in the mirror and he cheekily puckers his lips, sending him a kiss through the mirror.

Seijuurou doesn't move, too stunt to answer and Tetsuya lets out a faint but light laugh.

Oh, how Seijuurou wishes he could film this moment to make sure he'd forever have this memory with him.

"Ah, maybe I should go for something a bit darker though, because I can barely see it now. I didn't know you could still blush so much from a kiss on the cheek, Seijuurou." His smile is teasing and Seijuurou's ego is urging him to reply sarcastically while his heart feels full to be loved so openly by the man in front of him.

So he lets his heart have it, just this once (like all the other times he said 'just this once' to be fair). He lets his arms sneak around Tetsuya's waist, wrapping himself around his warmth while the blue head finishes applying his highlighter.

"You do make it easy to fall in love with you over and over again, it's hard to resist you." Tetsuya stops mid-air, blinking at Seijuurou’s sudden honesty.

They watch each other in the mirror and Tetsuya’s look on his face grows fonder, softer for the man wrapped around him. Seijuurou feels the blue head lean against him, head bumping against his while he lets his arms rest above Seijuurou's one, keeping him close.

"Good. Don't resist, you're mine." Seijuurou laughs, pressing a kiss on Tetsuya's jaw and neck before returning to his book, satisfied with the exchange.

"What do you want to eat when you get back? Should I cook something in particular?" He hears footsteps following him quickly after his question.

"You're cooking tonight?"

"Why not? Any particular wishes?" Seijuurou's smile feels easy, so light and so natural that he wonders how he survived without this feeling during the months they didn't talk.

Seijuurou wishes he could erase it from both of their memories.

"Would you mind making curry?" Tetsuya asks tentatively because he knows Seijuurou doesn't really like making curry—he only does it when Tetsuya stays to help.

But anything for the love of his life, he guesses.

"Sure, get home on time though." He’s mostly teasing because they both know that ballroom events are often late. Tetsuya will never be home at a regular diner time but it doesn't hurt to try.

Tetsuya smiles while he gets his coat and stops in front of Seijuurou. The blue head leans in, one knee falling on his chair while he steals a kiss from his boyfriend.

Seijuurou can’t stop smiling as they share an intimate goodbye.

Tetsuya's cold hands cup his jaw, softly tilting Seijuurou's head upwards, pressing one last sticky kiss to his lips before drawing back.

"I'll try my best, but no promise."

Seijuurou isn't ashamed to say that his eyes don't leave Tetsuya until the door closes behind him. He finally goes back to his book now that he's left alone in their shared apartment.

He's going to be busy today, he has a curry to make and vanilla tea to buy.
