   Summary

   The Devil is initially bored, but quickly becomes obsessed with King Dice, a young man banished to a cold, quiet monastery by his tyrannical father. After a week of careful observation (as a crow and a cat), the Devil risks exposure by confronting Dice, confessing his overwhelming love to force the core issue: slaying him with a blessed dagger or embracing the ultimate sin.
