Summary
Suna, warrior of a drought-stricken land and bearer of a divine name, is sent to a faraway village to wed a foreign chief in hopes of echoing an ancient myth—Sunayeh’s warmth bound to Azeran’s storm—bringing rain to her people at last. She expects a union of duty and ritual, distant, necessary.
But Shukara is not what she imagined. Its rains fall freely. Its people greet her with reverence she never sought. And the chief chosen to stand opposite her—Ruvan, severe as stone and bound by tradition—proves far more human, and far more complicated, than legend ever told her.
Their joining is meant to save her tribe and fulfill a traditional promise.
The slow, impossible tenderness growing between them was never meant to be a factor. This is a raw first draft. I'm experimenting with original work and playing with language, structure, and mythology. Feedback is welcome, but polish will come later
