Summary
Claudia wrapped her tiny fist around the skylight crank and opened up a sliver of endless night above her.
She lay on her back underneath, letting the starlight wash over her. This was now as close as she would ever get to feeling the warmth of the sun on her face, through the glow of other suns millions of miles away [...] As she stared into the sky, a cold enveloped her body. She knew there were planets and stars and gas within the blackness. Were they all as lonely as she was? Were there rocks too small to be moons that crashed into planets instead of dancing with them?
Was that what she was? An asteroid? A crater?
Claudia roams the townhouse alone one week after Charlie's death. As she tries on her father's clothes, she comes to terms with how the dynamics of her family have changed.
