Backstage, I could only ignore everyone else as I watched how she was walking with her, they both looked so happy. The way they got more and more closer with each passing moment - I just couldn’t look away, she looked so happy with her, smiling, laughing, even making sure they would make more memories together. To look back on and have a good smile about, that there would never be another dull moment as they would be together.
It didn’t help that it started to make me remind myself of how we used to be that happy, of how we used to be like that.
Rhea was my cheerleader and I was hers. I gave her my locker when I moved to the main roster and that was when we started to become close and comfortable around each other, she made me smile the way that nobody else close, I did the same to her. I remember how she would say to me how my smile was ‘her favourite’, the way that it made me get butterflies in my stomach, as well as having a soft blush on my face. I knew that we had each other in the palm of our hands; that we would be practically inseparable.
If only…
If only I knew how wrong I would be.
No matter what I did to try and make her smile like I normally would, holding her hand, kissing her cheek, I noticed something was off about her, she just gave me a quick smile before going back to her expressionless face. It practically started to hurt me inside just how much she didn’t look happy anymore, how nothing mattered…
I remember the night before our women’s tag team championship match, we had a few drinks to celebrate. I must have said something that bothered her, since she quickly changed her mood in a flash. We did talk about it, and I thought that everything would be okay between the two of us - that tomorrow, we would be each other’s cheerleaders like we normally would be and be encouraging, determined to win those tag team championships. We could finally get our hands on gold, which was why I wanted to hype us up, but I noticed how that didn’t work out, so we both made sure everything was cleaned up before going to sleep.
We didn’t even win that night… She made her move, I knew that she was done with me…
I wish she would have told me why.
But she didn’t…

The amount of times that we just looked at each other as we walked backstage - I could feel my heart skip a beat, it hurt. At the same time though, I wished I would have known if her heart had skipped a beat just like how mine did, even if I would have never found out, I still wish that I would have known regardless, to know that I still meant something to her; even if I could or couldn’t tell by the expression on her face.
When I won the world title, I wished she was there waiting for me, I just knew that she would have hugged and kissed me so much, I would have felt like I was on top of the world, just me, my title, my girl. Yet, she wasn’t with me, all I had was just the title with me; even if everyone close to me had congratulated me, I just wanted to hear it come from her mouth or just by her actions really. By some luck, I saw her look at me, she just smiled before walking away, it made me blush so easily that everyone would be able to see so easily on my face - she was the only one who could make me blush that quickly, no else had that effect on me.
Although we had our separate paths, me stealing the Judgment Day then soon after losing the title to her, becoming a four time tag champion, I always watched her matches and how much she would be improving each time. I was still her cheerleader at heart, and I so badly wanted to cheer her on, make her smile like I normally would.
Then I saw how she got close to her.
Iyo and Rhea started to tag team together, getting more and more closer together. It was identical to the way that we started off, how was it that she easily smiled because of her? What was so special about her? Does she see me at all when she is with her? I knew my mind was all fucked up, I didn’t understand why I even cared, there was no reason for me to care at all, she was the one who decided to move on with her.
I just wanted to know exactly what Iyo had that I didn’t - there must have been something that I have clearly missed if I didn’t see how much she had secretly started to develop feelings and see just how amazing Iyo practically was. All of that Rhea could have had with me, I listened to everything she said, I made Rhea feel better when she was down, I met Rhea’s friends and got along with them very well. Did Iyo even do all of that? Did she even do everything that I had done?
I despised her for stealing Rhea like that away from me, when I could have had the chance to try and rekindle the love that Rhea and I once had, that we could build up that closeness and bond we once had, but then Iyo had to come along and steal her away.
I despised her.
I hated her.
I hate her. I hate… her.. I hate…
No.
I don’t hate Iyo. I have no reason too, she didn’t do anything to me, that was all justified by my actions, the actions that I chose to do, I was the one who had the chance to make everything right with Rhea and see if we could even rekindle and become closer like we once were, but I knew that I was too late.
All I could do was look on with a weak smile on my face - feeling the way that tears started to run down my face as I looked at how happy they were.
I hope she makes you happy, Rhea.
I hope you make her feel deserved, Iyo.
I hope that she is everything that I wasn’t.
Even though… I still love you.
