Chapter Text
Pain.
Sharp piercing pain spread along his back.
This was just supposed to be a simple supply run, Kier, Dev, Fantst and Baablu were visiting, this was their first time seeing each other after weeks.
The server felt a little too empty without them, maybe it was his clingyness or his need for attention. Maybe he just wanted to spend time with his friends without being in one of their recordings.
He had just wanted to cook something for them, not bake; he was useless at that. He was going to cook one of their favorite dishes, and for that he needed a lot of things, so he decided to make a quick run to their farms, he could even pick up something sweet to eat later. He had gathered all he needed to make this special dish, he planned to adjust the ingredients on the different plates so they could adjust to their different tastes of his friends. All of them had different tastes, but he would ensure everyone had a great time today.
It was all going so well, shame it didn't last long for him.

Now he found himself at his house door knocking on the door, he didn't need to knock but he did anyway. He supposed Baablu should be inside with Fantst, he had seen the two of them as he was just starting to leave.
As he heard footsteps nearing the door, his confidence depleted. He began to question how pitiful he must look right now. He was so embarrassed, he had been attacked by a random dog on the street who absolutely shredded his wings that were now screaming at him to do something, but he didn't have anything to heal himself with. Boosfer couldn't do anything, he couldn't protect himself. His need to be useful outweighed his confidence, and he had been too useless to protect himself. What would the others even think?
He was just about to turn around and search for healing somewhere else, but the door opened before he could run away. “Hey! Welcome-” Baablu greeted him on the other side, the welcoming stuck in the other's throat as he realised the state of the green parakeet.
Teartracks run along Booster's face, his eyes looking at everything and anything but not Baablu. He was hunched over, his wings were, in lack of a better expression, fucked up, all bloody and twisted, it looked like the green parakeet had been ran over by car. His feathers were all twisted too, Baablu made a mental note to preen them later.
"Boosfer- What?" The pink haired demon said in confusion, "come inside so me and fans can take a look at you." Boosfer was now being ushered inside, he left the shulker of ingredients on a nearby table before letting Baablu drag him to the living room where a very familiar blue axolotl hybrid sat relaxed. “Fantst grab the medkit!”
The named hybrid sat up in confusion, “What why?-” The confusion disappeared as soon as he saw Boosfer, the axolotl quickly rushed to get the medkit they kept for wherever one of them got hurt.
"What happened to you Boosfer?" Fantst asked and sat beside them while Baablu bandaged him. Their little group was like a family, it was obvious the others were concerned for him, but Boosfer didn't know how to handle it, so he didn't.
Boosfer averted his eyes, "I don't want to talk about it." He said, voice flat. He really did not want to explain how he lost a fight against a random wolf spawned in their server. How he couldn't defend himself.
"Okay alright, don't worry-" Fantst assured before Baablu interrumped him, "Do we need to beat anyone up?"
"What? No!" Boosfer exclaimed, sitting up from his lay down position. He knew where the others were coming from but he didn't expect Baablu to be so blunt, it felt nice tho. Knowing he was cared for and that they would defend him. A small exasperated, "Dude.." escaped the blue axolotl, who also asked, "Do you want painkillers?"
"Uum, it's not that bad now." Boosfer said in a low voice almost a whisper, after a while he pipped up as Baablu finished dressing his wounds, "When are Kier and Dev coming?"
He was missing the duo of dragons now, they had special abilities to diffuse the tension in the room. If they were here now, they would notice how uncomfortable he was with the amount of genuine and honey attention directed at him, this was not usually the case. Sure, he loved the attention, but this kind was different to him, it was full of warmth and love that made his knees feel weak. He felt nice but it was becoming something he didn't know how to process.
"They are arriving in a while, don't worry."
Boosfer hummed indicating he had heard him. Baablu sighed as he stood back, watching him with what he would later swear wasn't worry. "We still need to make the food." They really needed to make the food, maybe they could think of something else?
"Can we make it when we are all together?" The green parakeet asked the other two hybrids.
A "Yeah." And "Sure." Were uttered into the air. The two brothers quickly agreed, it was a great idea. It would be so chaotic, it would not end well in the best way possible. Nobody knew how to cook that well, sure Boosfer could be an exception but the guy was good at everything.
Boosfer hummed and let out a small purr as he stretched, a hiss escaped him as his wings twitched, his feathers were still messy but he could preen them later. "Good, now get over here!" He called the others over for cuddles, while he said before about not knowing how to deal with all of this, he knew about one thing. He wanted to be wrapped in his closest friend's arms.
"Tipical Boosfer." Baablu laughed as he settled on Boosfer's right side while Fantst was on his left. The three of them fell into each other's embrace.
A soft silence enveloped the room, the sun was shining and the warmth from each other's bodies helped against the cool breezes outside. It was still early for them, a soft purr escaped the demon hybrid whose face blushed in embarrassment as Boosfer let out a small giggle, but the purring only got louder. Fantst already feeling left out just reached an arm around the green parakeet to grab onto Babalu's free arm. Boosfer just sank further into their little pile, letting out a small chirp in the process.
Just as the sleep began pulling them under a loud knock from the door startles them awake. The green parakeet wormed his way out of the group pile and darted for the door with new found energy.
