Chapter Text
You walk into the school, wearing a dress that your mom forced you into and your hair up. You look around, obviously lost. You find your locker and open it. A guy suddenly slams his hand next to your locker.
You jump and look up. A basketball player. "Can I help you?" You ask, closing your locker. "I don't know, can you? I'm Jason, Jason Carver, now who do I have the pleasure of meeting~" he says, flirtily. You roll your eyes. "Y/N.." you say, leaning against the locker.
"Ooh.. fiesty, hm?" He teases, his eyes trailing. Your eyes narrow. "Hey. Eyes up here. I may be new, but I'm no pushover, creep," you say, rolling your eyes. He narrows his eyes. "What did you just call me, girl?" He snaps, pushing himself off the locker.
You look up at him and remember what your parents said before you left. Don't make this school like your old one. ...You sigh and back down. "Nothing. Just- don't want you staring at me," you say quietly. "Thats what I thought," he says before walking off.
You notice him walking over to another guy at his locker. Long, curly, dark hair.. a denim jacket.. and a shirt that says 'hellfire' with a demon..
"Hey, freak," Jason says, pushing the guy. "What do you want, Carver.." The guy says, looking up at Jason, defiant.. "I want you to stay away from the new girl. We don't need you infecting her with your.. Satanist ways.. Got it?" Jason says. The guy glances at you.
I wish I could be that defiant.. damn..
He winks at you. Jason sees and punches him.. You gasp. But theres barely a reaction from anyone, as if its.. normal.. Jason walks off. You watch as he gets back up like nothing happened. He walks past you. You swallow and then go to your classes..
Its lunch and you get your food. You look around the cafeteria. Jason is waving you over. You glance at the bulletin board. Your parents want you to get involved in clubs.. so..
'Cheer' 'dance' 'choir' bleh.. most of them make you roll your eyes.. you see one crumpled up on the ground with red x's drawn on it. You pick it up. 'Hellfire - D&D club - Tuesdays room 201'... you never really got into the game.. but who's to say you couldn't try..
Someone snatches it out of your hand and rips it up. Jason. "Trust me, you don't want to hang out with the freaks," he says, sneering. "A pretty girl like you should do more, girly things," he says.
I want to tell him to screw off.. but.. I don't want to have a life like I did in my old school.. maybe I really should try to.. be normal.. like everyone says..
"Right.. I.. could try choir.. I'm.. a pretty good singer.." you mutter.
Meanwhile at Eddie's table. He can see the faint spark of defiance in your eyes.. but he doesn't understand why its so easily dimmed.. "fuck.. Gareth, I wanna talk to her.." he says. "Come on, Eddie. You know what Jason said-" he says. "Oh fuck Jason. Since when have I ever listened to that ball playing jerkwad?" Eddie snaps back. "Good point, just be careful," Gareth says, shrugging.
A few days later
You're sitting in your room, Saturday.
I'm not going to school.. so.. where is my.. what the hell.. did they throw out my band tees.. and my denim jacket.. no.. damn it!
You sit against the wall, looking at the dresses in your closet. You decide you're gonna try to buy some new stuff...
"Mom, Dad, I'm gonna go explore. Yk, new town and all that." You say, grabbing your jacket. "Be careful, sweetie." Your mom says before you walk out.
You walk with your hands in your pockets. Annoyed. You can hear the faint sound of music coming from a warehouse. You hesitantly peek inside..
Eddie, and three other guys are playing rock music.. "so, what song do you want to do next?" Gareth asks. "Hm.. I'm thinking.. Metallica?.." Eddie asks, a smirk on his face. "Again!?" Jeff asks, laughing. "What!? Its a classic!" Eddie says, also laughing.
You snicker, accidentally. You cover your mouth. "Hm?" Eddie's head pops towards the door. "Oh, hey, its the new girl," Eddie says, smiling. "Get in here," Gareth says, leaning against his drums.
You hesitantly walk in a little. "Um.. Hi.. I'm Y/N.." you say, looking around at them.
"Why do you look like your about to shit yourself?" Jeff suddenly asks. "Jeff!" Both Eddie and Gareth snap at the same time. "I mean, he has a point.." Gareth says, smiling.
You don't really know what to say. "Dude, are you okay?" Eddie asks, raising an eyebrow, putting his guitar down.
"I.. um.." you wipe your eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine..." you say, obviously lying. "Geeze, someone's gotta teach her to lie," Gareth snickers. "Come on, Gareth.. somethings obviously wrong with her," Jeff says sarcastically.
Eddie pushes them both aside and walks over to you. "Hey, what happened?" He asks.
"My parents threw out all my old clothes and my denim jacket.." you mutter out. "Ah dude- what the hell-" Gareth says, frowning now.
"And I know I should thank them like they want me to.. they just want me to be normal.." you say, sniffling, looking at the ground.
"Hey, normal is boring," Eddie says, lifting your chin. "You don't have to conform for people.." Eddie says softly, looking at your hair, "Geeze, that thing is in there tight.." he says.
"Yeah.. I guess I can take it down.." you take it down.. Eddie suddenly ruffles your hair. "There. One of us now," he says, smirking.
"Just need you a piercing and some good ink," Gareth says, smirking. "Woah now, lets not scare her off," Eddie says, laughing.
You smile a little. You fidget with your dress. Eddie sighs. "Be careful with it, got it?" He says before throwing you a Metallica shirt from his bag.
"Yeah.. thanks.." you mutter. "But I'm more of a.. guns n roses girl.." you mutter, smiling a little. He gaps, "Blasphemy!" He says, feigning shock, putting his hand on his chest.
You laugh. "I mean, I haven't heard much Metallica-" you start saying. He grabs your shoulders. "Get ready for the time of your life," he says, a wide smile on his face.
"I think we should-" Gareth says, starting to walk towards the exit, knowing how Eddie gets about his Metallica, Jeff following.. "yeah, gotta go walk my cat," Jeff says.
