Work Text:
"You need to break the time loop. Stop trying to save me. I love you."
He doesn’t know how many times he’s heard the message. He’s His memorised everything about it, the cadence, the desperation, the pleading.
"You need to break the time loop. Stop trying to save me. I love you."
It was an accident, he knows that much. He wasn’t there, he was helping Nora‘s grandfather with his presidential campaign. He should’ve been there.
He should’ve been there.
"You need to break the time loop. Stop trying to save me. I love you."
He doesn’t know if he could’ve done anything, but still. He should’ve been by his side, not a country away. Some days he blames Philip, some days he blames Bea. Most days he blames his mother for not coming back from wherever the hell she decided to go to.
Maybe she’s gotten over her grief of his father passing away a long time ago, perhaps her son would still be here. Then again he suppose is given his own grief, he can’t really dictate others
"You need to break the time loop. Stop trying to save me. I love you."
He doesn’t care how many times he has to hear this message before it drives him mad. Maybe it already has. God only knows as he only listens to it just before it gets to the end before he just replays it again or puts his phone away and goes back to what he was doing.
He doesn’t care how many rules of time he has to bend, however. He will save him. He has to.
He can’t live without him.
"You need to break the time loop. Stop trying to save me. I love you."
