Post-Z1: Jack Savage, hard-boiled private investigator with a limp, is dragged into a whirlwind case of treacherous old flames, powerful slumlords, and hidden threats, thankfully aided by Nick & Judy along the way.
Absurdly well-written noir detective thriller. I love every character, including the ones that I just love to hate. The prose is top-tier, the world feels alive and stark, the intrigue is gripping, and the tension is unrelenting. Its abandoned status is painful bordering on cruel, yet it makes me appreciate what there is all the more. This is one fic that deserves ten times the kudos it has, easy.

I have no idea why this isn't well-known, because it's brilliant. I am deeply invested in the character of this Jack Savage and his "Rey". Unfinished, but ends...well, not on the worst cliffhanger?
