   Summary

   Mav had always cared for his trainees. He found it hard to say no to any of them, even when he knew logically it was really stupid to do so. So when his first ever trainer, and former ace of his Team Maverick, Taiki Shuttle asks him to come watch her sister race, of course he drops everything to come and watch. But reuniting means having to address some uncomfortable feelings both had been harboring. Distance may make the heart grow fonder, but will it make it strong enough to withstand years of unspoken tension? Only one way to find out!
