“Get to the point, Loki!”
Amid the red lights, Psylocke shouted at Loki.
“Me? You get to the point of why I would. You’re the only duelist here after Star Lord got obliterated into pieces by that spider child’s mines,” refuted the trickster god.
“You’re too far to heal our vanguards that are taking damage, and I need to sabotage their backline. Now, go!”
With that, Psylocke took off. Loki sighed and became invisible, leaving behind his clones to occupy the backline, where only Invisible Woman was.
As Loki went toward Spider-Zero’s payload, hoping that Psylocke would return in time for him to return to the backline, something felt off. Amidst the chaos of the battle over the payload, Loki noticed that a new foe did not engage in the fight. Rather, this enemy was staring in Loki’s direction.
The strategist god hesitated, but thought to himself, “No, I’m invisible. That mortal couldn’t possibly…”
Yet, this enemy, vested in maroon, persisted in glaring at Loki, and then spoke.
“I see you.”
Loki looked around and pointed at himself before the foe began to walk toward him.
“Psylocke!”
Loki screamed, running toward his backline. There, he bumped into Invisible Woman. The contact uncloaked him. Invisible Woman jumped in panic.
“Oh! Loki. It’s just you,” she remarked before sighing in relief.
“Just me? It is me, mortal,” Loki pushed back.
“Shh!” Invisible Woman hushed the god, “I hear someone coming.”
Loki scoffed at the perceived disrespect, but he and Invisible Woman activated their invisibility powers.
The two turned around to see the same enemy Loki had encountered. They stood very still, but the horned opponent did the same, staring just as intently at them both as before.
“A false god and his companion,” the enemy remarked in a low voice.
A flash of red light blinded the strategists before the foe pummeled Invisible Woman into the ground, leaving Loki shrieking in confusion.
As Psylocke advanced back, she saw what was going on.
“The enemy is diving! A yokai?” Observed Psylocke as she sprinted, noticing the opponent’s horns.
From behind a wall, Psylocke became invisible and continued advancing to the backline. Yet, the enemy had already finished off Invisible Woman, and not a moment had passed before the enemy dashed first, who had looked Psylocke in the eye and struck.
“What… is this?” Psylocke groaned, shocked.
The enemy’s blazing fuchsia eyes burned a hole through Psylocke’s being before his fists did. Loki, having witnessed this, made a run for it. As he ran far, he did not dare to look back.
Eventually, Loki had stopped, breathing heavily and slouching over.
“Good. I lost that,” Loki paused before finishing, “thing…”
Yet, somebody else was breathing heavily as well. Loki turned around and beheld that devil.
“I see you.”
“AAAAAAAAA-”
The End.
