Day 14: Snowflake

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Jason was out tonight. He had some things he had to do as Red Hood, and it left Percy alone, not that Percy minded; he just tended to miss him on nights like these.

It sometimes left Percy sitting on the roof of the apartment buiding, Jason owned it so he didnt care, and just stare up at the moon and clouds, waiting for Jason to come home.

This night, it was a bit cold so he had a thicker hoodie on, he was pretty sure it was one fo Jasons but he didn’t care, and was sitting there, stare up at the clouds and the moon.

He thought about being able to see the stars, being able to see Zoe. even though those years were long behind him, he still thought about them, about the kids that he could have saved.

Even though he was just a kid himself, he could have done so much more to save the kids.

Percy was brought out of his thought process by a snowflake hitting his nose. Percy sighed, cold steam coming out of his mouth. Another thing he started to notice was that, even though he had a good grip on his abilities, nights when he got sad or mad about things, the weather reacted with him.

The snow couninued to fall, percy not minding and letting it build up in his hair. At one point, he raised his hand and caught a snowflake.

Every snowflake looked different. The memory of a childhood long past him with people who constantly gae him fun facts.

When he and Annabeth ahd broken up, it was mutual. They did love each other, but ot was more platonic then anything.

“Perce,” a modulated voice called out from behind, bringing him out from yet another memory.

Percy turned, looking at his boyfriend dressed in his Red Hood gear, Percy smiled. “Jase.”

Jason huffeda  quite laugh, walking over to him as he took off his helmet, leaving his domino mask on.

“What are you doing out here?” Jason asked as Percy leaned against him.

Percy shrugged, “I wanted to wait for you,” he said through a yawn.

Jason huffed a laugh, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead before resting his head against Percys.

“Well, you’ve seen me and I’m turning in for the night so how about lets get inside and in the warmth?” Jason asked.

Percy nodded tiredly, following Jason and standing up as they made there way back down to their apartment.

Jason thought ahead and made sure that the apartment he took was on the top floor so it was easy to get o from the roof.

In the end, both men were curled up in the bed, lights off and drifting off to sleep.

Percy thought about the snowflake again, never perfect, but still beautiful.
